I was always starving in the evening and during the night. I would end up having cereal just before bed

Cereal doesn't work for me, l need a proper meal and after about 2/3 l am starving again. Waking up 2 times a night for a meal, that is not normal, l am scared. Seeing midwife on Tuesday for tests.

I went through phases of waking up for food too - try not to worry about it, I think it’s quite normal. I’d grab a sandwich or some cereal or something and head back to bed.

Did it just go away on its own? Or when you gave birth?

Yes it just came and went during the third trimester. I’ve not given birth yet but I had it a couple of times, would wake up starving every night for about a week then it would go

i Wouldn’t ignore the urge to eat.are you eating small meals ?as eating small and regular is normal for a pregnant lady you may think your eating too much but in actual fact meals are smaller than before pregnancy. I would say your body wants the nutrients and preparing for the final stages of pregnancy and Labour.

I am eating small amounts coz l just can't manage large portions, this makes me want to eat every 2/3 hours. I have tried to eat large portions but still am hungry 2/3 hours.

I would say I eat more at night also even at this stage and sleep more in the day x

Don’t worry this is normal for some women I ate every 2 hours. I always ate just before bed and took food upstairs for the night x

Baby may be going through a period of growth and therefore taking more from you. I wouldn’t ignore what your body is telling you and try not to be too concerned either especially as you’ve said your are eating little and often. It sounds pretty typical to me 😉 xx

That sounds exactly like me! While pregnant I used to have my ‘snack bag’. Before bed I would have croissants, fruit and various food bits in the bag that I would have throughout the night whenever I woke up. Whole family found it hilarious but I genuinely couldn’t go the night without eating otherwise I’d feel super sick. I couldn’t stop eating towards the end of the pregnancy

In the day I hardly had an appetite it was nighttime which was my prime time

I do eat during the day but more at night, all l wanna do is sleep. I seem to spend most of my time eating and in the loo.

Thank you. I was beginning to think that there was something wrong with me. I don't have any cravings, food is not my friend at the moment but l feel hungry, having to force myself to eat, its been a challenging journey.

Aww no it sounds perfectly normal! Yes it’s so difficult towards the end

Hard to know what your body wants or needs xx

This was normal for me. I ate constantly and decided to just listen to my body and embrace it. I went from 9 stone to 12. And my baby is now 3 and a half months old and I’m back to 9 without any effort. In fact I still eat more than I did before being pregnant (because of breastfeeding I think) but I don’t feel nearly as hungry as I did being pregnant. I think bodies are amazing and you should trust yours as much as you can to give your baby and you what they need at the right time xxx
