Im 11 weeks pregnant and I’m looking for some of your home remedies and tips. I’ve had a horrible cough since Friday which has since turned into a stinker of a head cold as of today.
I went to boots on Friday and got a glycerin cough syrup and I’ve been taking Paracetemol when I need it. I also bought their first defence nasal spray. I’ve been sucking on jakemans sweets and trying lemon and ginger tea and adding honey too.
I just need to find some relief from this cough! I always get bad coughs with my colds but this is making me cough so much that I’ve been sick twice and barely slept last night. I really need to try and go to work this week too as there’s quite a lot of important stuff going on. If the cough doesn’t go after a week or so I will be going to the drs. I’ve had chest infections before so I know how horrible they can be!
Any tips greatly appreciated!! Thanks 😊

I got really congested and had a cough during pregnancy and I bought a steam inhalator and menthol crystals from boots and it was great! Hope you feel better soon xx
As prescribed by my nurse, drink lots of water, and brew yourself lemon and ginger. Add some sliced lemon (i prefer unwaxed lemon) and press out the juice. When it's lukewarm, add some honey (its because the good enzyme of honey is destroyed if it's too hot). I did it recently as I caught some bug myself at 24 weeks. I use fresh ginger but you can get the ginger+lemon tea from the shop.
I'm also in my first trimester and have been having colds on and off and also had a terrible cough that lasted for almost 2 weeks. When I had it I usually take honey coz it's naturally soothing and I also make tea with cloves, ginger, honey and lime which tremendously helped me with my cough and cold. I never really took any paracetamol or cough syrups or any decongestant. I would be cautious in my state taking cough syrups or any decongestants if I were you, I would rather use a humidifier which really helps. I do really hope you get better soon.
