Have you tried Epsom salts. I use it in my daughters bath wish I'd discovered it years ago. It helps with her eczema xx

When I google British Association of Dermatologists Eczema the second result is a PDF leaflet 'atopic eczema' which is really good - it is worth reading and then getting an appointment with the GP as GPs are pretty experienced in most skin conditions, especially eczema and childhood eczema which is usually atopic eczema. They can check for signs of infection, which can be why it comes and goes, and treat it with stuff you can't get without prescription, but they can also advise on general measures to look after the skin and prevent recurrence. Hope this helps :)

The Arbonne range has really helped my sister in law out with my niece's skin. It is all botanical and has had a lot of success stories: arbonne.com/PWS/AliceWillia...

There a few basic rules with eczema like avoiding soaps and perfumed things, trying washing powder that's non bio ... specific moistuizer applied regular as possible (forget perfumed stuff like johnsons).

What you also need to remember though that there is no cure for eczema per se, and when they're stressed and ill it's likely to come back. If baby is having flare ups he might need a weak steroid +- antibiotics if infected, which need to be via gp... however this will treat the episode and not long term issue. Luckily most children tend to row out of it over time.
