I am 3 days overdue and have had a sweep with no success. I have no symptoms or signs of baby arriving soon. I am eating and trying everything suggested on the internet... feeling really low now as midwife has booked an induction for next Thursday. Really want things to start naturally. .. any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Ah thanks! I've been bouncing on the exercise ball as I do not have a trampoline... thank you for your suggestions I really hope baby arrives soon...
May sound weird but driving over plenty of speed bumps helped me. Hope baby arrives soon, happy and healthy.

Hey, this won't help but babies come when babies want but I know you must feel rotten especially with the hot muggy weather! I was pregnant last summer for September baby.
Sex Sperm Sex!! If you can face it...and also can you not request to be put on foetal monitoring Thursday and if all ok, try another sweep then agree induction 3 days later if still not happening?
Like you I really wanted things to be as natural as possible but I was induced, I have nothing to compare it to labour wise but it was 'ok' for me, 24hr Pessary, waters broken, delivery 3.5 hours later.

I lost the plot and ended up with due date baby but thought I was in it for the long haul. I totally feel for you. I was utterly miserable and had a total pity party for one. Then one day I had words with myself came to terms with the fact I was likely going to be late and my husband took me out for pub supper (sensing my misery) We had a lovely evening. Minimal baby chat, made plans for the weekend and just relaxed. Came back bit of tv. Back massage, late to bed. 30 mins later got up to pee and whoosh, waters went.
I had been doing EVERYTHING before this to get him out. I hated pregnancy. Relaxing and going with it is was worked for me.
Sorry but baby will come when it is ready and if not might need a hand. ..u can ask for another sweep they are more effective more over due u are. .. But I had 5with my 5th baby and they could feel my waters bulging but nope nothing. ... Wasn't til they broke my waters that things kicked off. ..u can ask them to hold off on the drip to see if ur contractions will kick off on their own if it comes to that... All the best xx
Acupressure, reflexology, aromatherapy massage and a sweep worked for me at 40+4. You don't have to be induced unless there is a medical reason to do it, as others have said ask for another sweep and monitoring. Also, I have heard of many positive experiences of induction, so don't worry about it. You'll get to the stage where you just want baby out by whatever means. Good luck, keep walking and bouncing.
Thank you to everyone for your replies. I went for a ridiculously long walk yesterday and still nothing. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow so I will request another sweep. Really hope it works as I am going nuts and feeling really sorry for myself! I am 4 days overdue now. Just want baby to arrive now!!!
Hi hun. I feel your pain! First pregnancy i was booked in to be induced 12 days over! The night before I was due to go into hospital to be induced, my little girl decided to start to make her journey. The following day she arrived.
Im now on pregnancy 2 and 5 days over. Sweep booked for monday so will no doubt have induction date end of next week. They come when they are good and ready and I have heard A LOT of people saying that they go themselves the night before they are due to be induced. My friend, with her second pregnancy went in to be induced, the put the gel on her cervix which helped soften it and a couple hours later she was in full labour(she was obviously ready to blow).
