1st period after baby...

Got my 1st period on Monday after giving birth just over 8 weeks ago :o(

Not painful but very heavy and no sign of slowing down, previously, the were normal/ slightly heavy for 2 days then very very light for 5 days!

Really hoping they don't stay like this and go back to how they were!!!

Anyone had similar?

I've always had quite light periods but my first couple after giving birth were really heavy and painful and lasted about 7 days. Totally normal, just your body getting used to this whole period business again! Just beware of the normal warning signs (odour, clots etc) and they'll soon even out

Hopefully, I won't find out! Had depo provera at 15 days post-partum! Taking no chances!! ;-p

Yes,

I remember having quite heavy & long periods after the birth of my son. I think its just the fact of our tummy muscles getting used to the monthly cycle of periods again.

I pretty much agree with the comment / reply made by " dons88" just look out for things like clotting or any unpleasant odours.
