I have just reached 21 weeks. I have felt a few flutters and a couple of light kicks. This only happens every now and then. I keep worrying.

Dont worry, some babies are more active than we may think & nearly every movement they make is cushioned by the placenta or something.

Maybe its a girl. Female's are said to be less active. xx

That sounds about right, I looked back on my diary and I was only feeling a few movements, infact it wasn't until 24 weeks did movements really ramp up, now at 34 weeks it's more subtle and in a routine :)

Start kick counting from 28 weeks, that means 10 movements every 12 hours :)

Thank you for the great advice x

Hi jowalk6, im at 24 weeks and have only just started feeling more distinct movements(ones that you cannot mistake for trapped wind etc), more regular and at certain times of the day, so I do feel there is some sort of pattern developing. You hear quite a few comments saying you may (sometimes even should) feel strong movements at 18- 20 weeks, but I disagree, in my case 22+ weeks and my work colleague (at 34 weeks) said she didn't start feeling regular strong movements until she was28-29 weeks! Everybody is different, I think if you start comparing yourself to others its easy to start worrying that something's not right, Try not to worry, you will feel more movement when the time is right for you and baby.

I felt my baby at about 15 weeks, and generally in response to speed bumps or singing, however my husband couldn't feel it till nearly 30 weeks and only when we were both very still. His cousin didn't realise she was pregnant until 6 months and then only because she had back ache, and never felt the baby move so everyone's different.

Hi, the placenta can make a difference. My last pregnancy o

it was at the front and didn't feel flutters until around 16 weeks proper kicks around 19-20 weeks whereas my second i could feel flutters at 12-13 weeks kicks at 14-15 weeks. my first i felt flutters at around 20-21 weeks and kicks around 24 weeks but she was my lazy baby who didn't move a lot, so i had lots of worry with her and she is now 7 yrs old.

Thank you for your message x

I am 23+4 and at 21 weeks my little man was quite quiet during the day (which worried me) but more active at night, trust me it will get more but obviously they r like u or I they need time just to chill and do nothing so don't worry too much, if I drink something very cold I don't think he appreciates it as he gives me a few kicks, xx

I didn't even have a bump till 26 weeks and then no movement until maybe week 30. I had my placenta at the front though. It scared me every day when people would ask if I felt something and I had to always say no. I have no idea why not. He's the most lively and active little 4 month old boy ever. Keeping me on my toes. I think it's normal for some people. x
