Hot sweats

Consultant thinks I have polymyositis and is just waiting final test results .I just wondered if having hot sweats, sweating far more than I have ever done has any connection to that disease, and no,it’s not my age,I am 74

You overheat just like a radiator! I really can't bear the feeling of being wrapped up so my skin can't let the heat out.

I know it seems an odd thing to say but at least knowing you have this makes sense of all the other ailments you may have had over the years. ;)

That is true,I’ve been a long time getting a diagnosis, partly my fault with choosing to live with the problem until I could no longer walk round a supermarket,The consultant I saw really upset me ,the GP was appalled and suggested second opinion in another town.I took a year to accept it ,forced on me really because I now need a mobility scooter. However this time things have been brilliant,a lovely consultant and things will be finalised in the October appointment.Thank you for your reply

Hi 341-j,

When I was diagnosed in 2014 with polymyositis, I suffered with lots of sweats, it was very unusual for me as I was always such a cold person.

Make a note of all your ailments when you see your consultant.

Good luck, hope you get some answers, keep us posted

Thankyou for that.its unusual for me as well,I have a hot flush then sweat runs through my hair forehead and neck.like you ,was usually a cold person, even now I have ice cold feet that turn purple as they uncomfortably warm up .your suggestion of writing things down is very good.I will do that
