My to do lists and ProcrastinatingMy daytimer was my life, enery waking hour organized! My first 12 hours of every day planned and entered. If there were any gaps in those time slots,... yeah right? Was there ever? But if there would be... there were those never ending piles on my desks I could actually work on before everyone else went home for the day: Estimates to figure and send out organized by most urgent on top. (There were rules to the piles. No item in the pile could be more than set # of days depending on the customer, and..... )
Pile height was usually the determining factor how long I would be working tonite. And how much weekend work. Home before dark a real bonus! That never happen during the winter months. Not enough daylight hours.
And there was a second pile, accepted proposals which had to have materials ordered, a detailed job ticket created, so it would be ready to run out with the crew to show the job to be done on-site quickly and accurately, answering any questions. And when on site, always checking, am I going to be on time to my next estimate? Time was precious. Location, traffic based on time, weather? ... Will be on time, Calls I need to do as I drive to my next stop. How many can I get through? Hurry, do, do, do. Today's a Thursday, payroll and taxes too. They're today at...... Then figure estimates order materials for the job starting...,more jobsheets, and it's what time? A typical fashionably late dinner again. Wonder if anyone will wait today? Do it all again tomorrow starting at 4:30? No I've got to ....so I'll need an extra??? 3:30 AM start tomorrow.
Oh darn, I really need to find time and do this list of other things, prioritized by...........
I DON'T PROCRASTINATE. I PRIORITIZE, SCHEDULE, AND DO, DO, DO till I colapse from exhaustion. So, M.S., it's a piece of cake, right? Do the above AND with M.S.? Adds challenge. Just add it to the list! Do it all while hobbling, wading thru molases, or walking into things,..or...,or...
Today? Work and My DayTimer are gone. But I still have to do lists! Though now they're on my phone, my computer, Post it's on/in all "my areas"....
How do I ever get anything done with all these to do lists? I miss the DayTimer days?
Still, you can't procrastinate if you don't have time. Then there are sites like this?
They offer opportunity to procrastinate. It's just getting light out. I have to post entries to...make breakfast, grocery shop, instal, prep dinner, and, I'm exhausted. I don't last anything like I used to? Oh well?π
My wife wants to get me this shirt that says "When I say I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it. You don't have to keep asking about it every 6 months."
I actually taped that saying to a gfi receptacle that my hubby had purchased to put in the kitchen and just kept moving around in the kitchen for MONTHS! It at least made me laugh to look at it..π
You have the best posts and attitude of anyone on here! God bless my wife but she is procrastinator #1. I have a sense of urgency that wonβt allow me to procrastinate. Weβve been together 30 years so weβve worked hard on our relationship.
I don't regret it
Okay, but first I nap, falalalala
