Sometimes I have to take doctor appointments when I can get them, so we had to leave just when the trick-or treaters were coming out in force.
The last time I left a bowl of candy on my porch years ago, someone stole all the candy AND my bowl, which I later found lying in the street.
Last night my husband and I came home and there was a bunch of unfamiliar candy in there with a few of ours. I guess it must have gotten low and some kind soul added some so that the kids wouldn't be disappointed.
I was really touched by this. It kind of renews my faith in humanity!

Was it you? Did you steal your own bowl of candy, falalalala? 😂 The first year we lived where we are currently, I bought a large bag of candy and we had 4 neighbor children come. What was I thinking? We had just moved to the country! Fortunately I bought candy I liked! 🍫
We live out in the country and never get trick or treaters. Therefore, our neighborhood isn't a good place to trick-or-treat. When my boys were little, I used to take them to a girlfriend's house in a subdivision.I did not go empty handed, however. Because I let my kids trick-or-treat in this neighborhood. I also took an additional bowl of candy for my girlfriend to pass out along with hers.
That way, I did not feel guilty about invading the subdivision with my children on trick-or-treat. I missed the joy of the holiday when my children were little and we used to all dress up and go to the trick-or-treat festival at our little Catholic school. I still have many of the costumes I made for the boys and even ones I made for myself. 👻🎃💖 Fancy59.
