Stupid question but are french fries with mayonnaise and a German thing? I have always loved my french fries with mayonnaise. My grandmother was full-blooded German.

Yes, it is a real thing and I don't know what is up with folks using ketchup! From 2nd grade to 9th grade I lived in Germany with my parents, my father was there for his job, we moved from the US to Germany, and then back to the US. I must say, some Americans do find mayo on fries a bit "gross", guess they never tried it! Note, for me, Germany is 40+ years ago.

My adult son is hooked as well on the Mayo with fries.. had to tell him more than once Mayo is not a side dish 😆 luckily for him he has a really good metabolism and runs on a regular basis .. thank you so much for sharing 🤗
