For those that take gummies /smoke or TH... - My MSAA Community
For those that take gummies /smoke or THC gummies, what benefits are there?
I would like to know also. I decided that when I finished mavenclad that I wold not take any other meds fir my MS and just treat my symptoms and one of my thoughts was medical Marijuana
ok well I guess I’m what they’d call a pot head. I have smoked since I was introduced to it at the ripe age of 15. At that time I was going through a lot. My mom was very sick and it was very hard to deal with that and life. Nowadays it helps immensely with the pain. And someHow walking. The drs say they can’t believe I can still (sort of) walk. (I’m upright!). I don’t know if it’s the pot or the fact that I’ve always been an athletic type person. I take the gummies religiously to help me sleep. They do knock me right out! (I can take pic of them as there are way many! I have tried 3 others before I got the result I wanted)
It’s got a bad rap but I do believe it helps me!
That is so good to know thank you so much for your information
I really haven't heard anything bad.
So far, my experience has been pleasant.
It doesn't feel like the "high" from years ago.I haven't done that for a few decades.and have no interest in smoking ( even though I made ceramic pipes yesterday with a friend -LOL)
My worst work ever.😂
just know I only felt ok to share cause it’s you 🙂. You have become a great friend 🙂. Ps: pet Norm for me 🙂
Peaceful calm feeling, better sleep, a little grin on your face no matter how hard you try not to smile. Lets face it, you need a break from the MS being in your face 24/7. Down side, the munchies are for real. I don't think smoking in any form is good for anyone so I go with the edibles. Start out with a small amount ( Too much is not fun at all ) Pop some popcorn, or your favorite snake and enjoy the experience. Report back if you decide to give it go.
I did give it a go and your description is spot on.
It is a break from MS. I didn't walk around though. I will test that out next time.
I did take a small amount and it was very relaxing. Neck and shoulder pain went away until the effects went away.
I had an apple at one point and snorked that down like a starving moose
You are right about the grin too. It's not something I'd take before a funeral.😂
I will share with you what I have learned but it's a long explanation and it's going to take me a little time to compose so I will be getting back to you asapQuick rundown
THC gives me an artificial Myelin (temporarily) and helps with lost connectivity/function
The different Turpin profiles of the plants ( I compare them to the iris culture with all the different names for different color flowers)
Assist with symptom management and are an essential part of the healing properties (especially for MS the anti-inflammatory properties) which gummies and other extracted cannabis tend to remove a large majority of.
CBD in the plant also helps with inflammation reduction and when I can afford them I get the thc/cbd combo gummies
That's just a start of what I have learned so far
My friend uses the THC gummies to control his A1C too because he has problems with the diabetic medications available and it works for him well
That's interesting.
I didn't notice any effect on my blood sugar but I am Type 1 (insulin dependent)
Do you notice any help with your gait?
OK he does not have to use insulin I'm not sure what type he has.As for my gait, absolutely. When I'm off cannabis for a lengthy period of time, I begin falling more, tripping over my own feet, bladder and bowel incontinence, uncontrollable spasticity including spastic seizures, dizziness, lack of appetite and uncontrollable pain... right now it's just a dull irritation. Here we go with more info... here is where it gets a bit complicated.
Each of us has our own unique cannabanoid system... it's cat nip for people but more than just that. So what works for noe may not work as well for another. One reason there are so many different meds on the market for the same conditions because we are each individual and unique. There are guides to help us find our way through the plethora of information. To start selecting the right cannabis flower... (different strains) I use an app called leafy in conjunction with a guide to help me select what ot avaliable in my area.
The app gives you the terpine profile of the different strains of plants. Here is a guide of the different Terpin effects so when selecting a strain I will look it up on leafy first then check for its dominant terps and what I want to try. It's still a bit of guess work however it's no different than a doctor prescribing a med to treat something and having to go through a few to find the best fit for the individual. Some of my issues like blood pressure took awhile to achieve. I started putting dried raw ground cannabis flowe in a spice shaker and and it going directly into my food. Also that preserves the efficiency of the terps as heat can destroy some of the benifits
Thanks for the info!
I'm impressed with the results you get.
I still need pharmacy for my spasticity a couple times a week if that... cannabis sometimes can't handle my damage but the cyclobenzaprine can't do it alone either. All of my pharmacy meds have been greatly reduced and I take them just a couple times a week on average. Especially if I've been active, haven't slept well, or it's to hot.

@Allen5280 This is the brand I tried....and will try again.😅
I'm unfamiliar, different states, different brands. Oklahoma law prohibits out of state products.. it was written that way from the beginning to keep profits here and federal issues as well. I do smoke some too cause I find sometimes I can't wait for edibles to kick in. That and I do like the soothing effect from my misery, a break from the madness and sometimes I find myself comfortably numb. Like at the present moment lol I can do more when I'm not fighting battles on all fronts.
Okay, I guess I was a pothead too. I smoked ever since college in 1972. I told my doctor that perhaps that's why I wasn't diagnosed until age 54. I don't know why, but it really helps with the spasticity and pain. I do walk so much better with it. I'm 68 now and I haven't been able to smoke in the last gew years, I can't handle the high. But, I do take the THC tincture. A drop under the tongue in the morning and I can feel the results in the afternoon. Hope this helps.
I don’t due this but I have several friends that have used it for years for their MS pain. One of my friends uses the butter 🧈 on her toast in the morning to start her day and swears by it. She lives in Montana where it’s legal and I live in Idaho where it’s not. I really think it needs approval everywhere for medical purposes 👍🏼😉
It does seem to help a lot of people.
I don't have much pain, once in awhile I get stabbed with it though. Some spastic episodes and trouble walking so I will experiment to see what happens.
1 puff takes 20 pills out of the equation. Gummy stop night time peeing and calm body to sleep . Eat a gummy and walk barefoot in the grass the best
From someone who kept a file cabinet drawer filled with all my scripts, from DMT supplies (the actual med was stored in the fridge), but all the rest, the gabapenton,.....way to many to list. To now for years, nothing except vitamins and a bit of cbd to kill the neurological pain before bed. Okay, a bit of an indica does make for a great nite's sleep, and an occasional bit of sativa will allow me to do a day's worth of yard work! Though I've stopped having relapses about a year and a half after stopping all meds, the evening pain kept me awake so much I was a barely walking zombie. Brain fog was so thick... I stopped eating and lived days off juicing fresh fruits and veggies, then slowly reintroducing the same with bits of lean meats, fish, and seafood. No relapses, no brain fog! But the pain is still there every nite unless I vape hemp flower for the instant cbd to kill the pain. Cbd gummies will help, but not like vaping the cbd flower. THC does not help my pain. A sativa with THC does overcome the fatigue allowing me to do things physically better than I could pre-m.s.?ButI still have that 101+ thing list of m.s. gifts that stuck such as a GPS bladder, bowels, on and on and on, though I did loose the cane after more than a half decade of must use or fall. Balance is not great, but better, attributed to healthy eating and lots of forced exercise walking.
So in short, CBD and Cannabis has been a lifesaver. Healthy non-processed foods without food additives even more so, but both are needed to allow me to be somewhat functional any more. I hurt my leg helping a friend with his boat. Maybe I lost my sea legs? So although the pain from that is gone (no, cannabis did nothing for that pain, I tried, I'm still recovering and not getting anywhere near my 10,000 steps a day. Stairs are the worst. BUT, getting better every day!
