Happiness project....... What inspires you to put the blue is away

As we deal with the MS as a community we all understand the depression and the isolation that comes with the disease. This inspired me to think of ways we could share with one another to keep the blues away!

One of the big ways is to belong to a community which we all do with the MS chat room and to have ourselves surrounded by others who are goìng through the same thing. If that doesn't do it for you you can always read one of kenu's, jimeka's or many others hilarious cartoons that can't help with brighten your mood.

For me it's as simple as getting out of the house because I find myself staring out the same window most of the time. I went to the Rodeo on Friday night and had a ball. My oldest son and his wife took me and it was the most fun I've had in months. Hopefully it won't be long and I will be able to be a lot more mobile with my new knee and do it safely. That's what I'm waiting for and my big dream is to be riding a horse sometime in early summer either May And of course sometime in May I'll probably be Holding my new grandsons so that will be a huge bright spot in my life.👶👶 I have a lot to look forward to and a lot to be grateful for. Remember it could always be so very much worse. Come on everybody put in your ideas and let's see how long we can make our list dealing with our happiness project.😆🤣🏝️🚂🌈🌅..........Fancy59.

The simplest for me is just sitting outside. I take the dog, a large cup of coffee, a stack of books, and just sit in the rocker for an hour or two on the back porch. If nature's running rampant at the time, I'll grab my binoculars and camera.

I'm getting cabin fever right now.

thanks Fancy, it makes me happy to do service for others. Finding something to do for others is a daily effort with big rewards. the other thing that makes me happy is to make a gratitude list every day.

Thanks Fancy59 I do need this. The grief has hit me like a ton of bricks this weekend and the depression is so deep I am crying a river. So your post helps me a lot. I know I have a lot to be grateful for but at the moment I just can’t see the wood for the trees. Pleased that you had a good time at the rodeo, and when you go riding take me with you in your mind 🤗

I have a couple of things that help me. I live in a wooded area so I take the dog for a walk & just enjoy nature. I always feel close to God out amount the trees. Or I quilt which takes my mind off of everything.

Exercise of any kind is a huge help for me as well as doing my artwork.

I do miss horseback riding though. I am not sure I could stay on/ grip very well.

Music and dancing are two of the things that change my mood. Love to just play something fun and fool around with my kids and husband around the living room. Going for a nice walk also brings me back to center

as I read everyone’s replies, my list keeps growing: dance, art, music, exercise, hot showers, doing for others, blue skies, birds singing, my kitties, days when both my brothers call, and at the moment my cup of coffee ☕️

coffee in the morning, going on a walk on a medium temperature day, playing my flute with a flute choir (hasn’t happened since Covid 😕), having a chat on my neighbor’s porch (all through Covid, she didn’t let people in her home, so she got good use of her porch. I went into her home last month (with a mask on)-the first time in about three years), finding and watching a new good series on Netflix, visiting my daughters in their new locations. Thank you, Fancy59, for your idea with this post. It made me think of all the things I do that I’m grateful for and that make me happy.

I feel better by expressing gratitude and counting my blessings each day…and they are many from big to small. Life is so good! And since I’ve only just received my MS diagnosis, I have to say that I’m actually thankful for it - it could have been something so much worse! And through this I have gained a new beautiful community to connect with!! ✨💝✨. Appreciating each of you ✨💝✨

As my beautiful granddaughter sleeps in my arms, I am very grateful. She is the light of my life.

I, also, am looking forward to May as I retire then and I have a list of things I want to do. Of course the 1st week I plan on sleeping in and doing not much, but after that I have some things I want to do. (One of which is learn to cook. In my 60s and still struggle!)

I have so many things to be grateful for. Like others have said, I love getting outside, just walking is a blessing, seeing friends every day, being independent, good coffee, hearing from my kids and grandkids, doing face time with them. The list goes on and on. And of course, all of you! 🥰

i love my cats. they're not just companions, they make me laugh. on the worst of days i just have to hold them and i feel better. i also like comedies, the weirder the better. checking in on here always improves my mood. and if i'm super sad, singing sad songs helps me get it out.
