Has anyone had a constant muscle twitching in their arm for months from MS? I have this along with jelly legs and a shake in my left hand. Booked in to see a neurologist in the meantime.
Thanks

Hi Walt, I will be interested in what your neurologist says about it. Please post when you have had your appointment, blessings Jimeka
The most I've had is twitching that lasts for several hours. It might do that for several days in a row and then be fine for a couple months. I only get it in my left forearm and occasionally my left thigh.
I have feet wriggling all the time & jittery hands & fingers. I have to really focus to hol them still. Right now my left foot & up to mid-call is jittery Best I can do is plant both heels down and pull toes up towards the sky. And I am wearing fuzzy socks & slippers. I buy lotion and a rub on pain killer with 4 percent lidocaine and that helps some. Ask the neurologist about Gabapentin or maybe infusion therapy. I get “Retuxmab” infusion every 6 months and it stops the jitters for about 6?weeks. it starts over again. Do some research on MSAA & Health Unlocked. Lots of good info on both! Since I started typing this the jitters have just become a muscle spasm I need to massage away.
Before I was diagnosed I had an eyelid twitch for at least two years. These twitches are muscle fasciculations. Supposedly, these are not common in MS because they involve the peripheral nervous system and not the central nervous system. So they may just be benign fasciculations, which are very common, and have nothing to do with MS.
glad you're seeing a neuro soon. i'm not sure what you mean by 'twitch,' but i have a few symptoms that could be covered. i have this odd traveling thing that feels like a cellphone on vibrate; it's usually in my thighs or arms. i also have some weird thing where one leg jerks out like i'm having my reflexes checked. then there's my hand shaking that results in things i think i picked up ending up halfway across the room.
keep us posted on the neuro!🤗
Not in my arms, but intermittent in my left eye, and both legs. For me it's an annoyance, for you it must be misery. I'm so sorry.
Thank you for all your replies! Twitch is like a ripple effect, everyone 2 minutes in my right arm. Has extended to other parts of my body now but not as frequent. Internal tremor also. Looking like a hallmark symptom of MND. Hope not.
Yes I get these twitches in my arms and my legs. I show it to my son he thinks it’s crazy looking but it’s annoying. Also I have a severe tremor in my left arm since right after being diagnosed. Now it’s moved to my right arm and legs. They have prescribed me a medication that is given to patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s but it kind of helped but not a lot. I hope your Neurologist can help you. I’m learning that mine does not see MS as important as it is too me and it’s frustrating.
i have that when my legs are at rest. That’s why my neuro originally prescribed baclofen i think
I have restless legs lately. My neurologist prescribed blood work for my iron. Said if it's low could be that. So today went for blood work.
The uncomfortable tightness and twitching sounds like what I had. Bacofen and Tizanadine were the medicines I take for the spastic feelings. For the tightness I would take Ibuprofen for a quick relief. Definitely ask your doctor.
have not here is hoping for a quick fix to stop it,....blessings for great news and love and happiness
