When I was akid, my two gal pals & their German Sheppard would explore the hill behind my house. Our parents never had to worry about us when “Rusty” was with us. Anyway, he found a porcupine and got a face full & mouthful of quills. 😔😥The girls mom got so mad at what happened, we did what 3 mountain girls would do. We went back up the mountain, stoned the porcupine, boxed him up and gave him a funeral & burial in my back yard. Nowadays we know that was the wrong thing to do. Oh the things we mountain girls were able to do & memories of fun summers.
