The reason I ask is because I just received a letter from my Neuro saying I can be put into a lottery to get it.
~Now this is ME MY PERSONAL FEELINGS ONLY! I'm Flippen sick burn out! I'm shot burn out! And the paper they sent? The odds, ? Well, I personally don't like them.
~77% lower risk of developing Covid 19 w/ symptoms.
~Protection that lasted 6 mo's from the time of injection.
So in MY CASE I have to travel 2hrs to get it, wait an hour, 2 hr home. 5 hrs with unvaccinated ppl...
Every 6? Mos?
No, just no..
Someone else give me input on this plzzzz!π€£ππ€ππ

I have not but Evusheld is a monoclonal antibody specific for COVID it doesn't stimulate your immune system to make additional antibodies. I assume I have antibodies unless the shots were water ???
It was my MS specialist that suggested Evusheld when I reached out about how to handle masks-optional at work. Your neurologist should be able to provide you with more info.
Thank you so much for your input. I was considering it, but you've made my mind up for me. I always value you insights. I had one moderna shot with so very bad side effect, that no more shots for me. Never had any problems with the J&J shots but my neuro does not like the J&J vachine, so....
I went for it since I'm now expected to work in close contact with students that are unmasked and can't tell them to put one on (unless I use ADA, which comes with added complexity).
I am vaccinated, but also on Kesimpta, so I qualified for it. My concern was more with being unable to recover from it rather than catching it. I feel better knowing that I have some antibodies to help me fight covid off if necessary.
I also had no side effects. I was hoping to take a day off work due to soreness from the injections, but, alas, I felt completely fine. πππ
I have done everything possible to prevent infection - which has worked up until this point - but that added layer of others masking / maintaining space has been removed, so it was time for a new solution.
My anxiety about going to work has really decreased since last week. I got Evusheld so I would be better protected and am also leaving early everyday. Leaving early has reduced stress by eliminating the class period where extended close contact was more likely to occur and also given me some extra time to rest after work.
It was a while back that i looked, but i know it can have heart effects and i feel like i remember something about increased cancer risk (Iβm not 100% sure about specifics on the cancer issue). But i had vaccinations before starting ocrevus and i have antibodies (Iβve been tested for antibodies) so I feel more relaxed (albeit not completely relaxed) about saying no and just feeling comfortable knowing itβs there should i need it (hopefully itβll be there!). My dad had gotten covid a while back and got monoclonal antibodies and I donβt think this is the same. Overall though i would rather not put something else int my body thats only 77% (Iβve also seen a report that says 83%) effective
The cardiac risks are small, mostly for people with underlying heart problems (like ischemia) and occur shortly after injection (that's why they have you wait an hour after the injections). Ocrevus is also a monoclonal antibody (like Evusheld). Ocrevus may slightly increase cancer risk but that's probably because of it's immunosuppression.
If you received vaccinations prior to starting Ocrevus, you are likely ok...though like with the flu vaccine, you may have an attenuated (weaker) response with any boosters). I'm guessing on that?
I got it two weeks ago. My neurologist and family doctor recommended it. I am on Ocrevus. Had my antibodies tested before Evusheld and found that I had none. No side effects after the injections.
I work in an educational setting and masks are now optional. I figured that I have enough symptoms associated with MS, I donβt need any thing to aggravate it.
So donβt take it. 7 yrs after diagnosis, being treated at a MS specific clinic at UTX in Austin, the university is taking part in research for Evusheld. My doctor recommended me immediately. After screening I was in the following day for shots. No side effects at all. I have also had a 4th Pfizer shot. Iβm 74, still pretty much sheltering in place. I said yes with no regrets.
I will be emailing my Neuro about it to get some questions answered. But he always says, something is better than nothing! π I'm still sheltering in place also and always mask up, if I have to go anywhere.. π€ππ
I got it, and zero side effects. I got the J&J Covid shot last year and was in the hospital for a week. No more Covid shot for me. I was not clear about having to get it every six months, but Iβll wait and see how the virus is progressing then and decide to re-get it or not.
Sorry this post is "late". my neuro also wants me to take this treatment. Had to take two Madera shots b4 hand but the first one was so "wrong" for me, terable side effects and has progressed my MS much further. I will not take the second one and at this point not sure totake this treatment. I too need to travel about 1.5 hours for it and I have no car insurance so this is a "no-brainer" for me.
