Anyone try a cleanse for weight loss? These extra winter pounds make my MS symptoms worse.

Yes, I'm doing a water fast for several reasons and extra weight does go quickly.

Let me in on this water fast, if you don’t mind. I’ve packed on pandemic pounds that need to go!

Of course how can I help? My plan is tomorrow after a zero carb lunch at 1pm.

I was wondering if you would share the details of how to do it. Details, instructions on what, when and how.

I can give you some names to check out, Google or YouTube; Valter Longo, Jason Fung, Daniel Pompa, and Mindy Peltz (grain of salt, the latter two are a bit much for my taste). I think for a beginner, intermittent fasting is the safest thing to try, with your MD blessing. It's also a type of fasting that doesn't interfere with medications, sleep, and social obligations. If I were doing a 24hrs fast tomorrow, for example and not recommend because even that much is seen as taboo, I would eat at 1pm tomorrow and not again until 1pm the next day. Normally people start with 2 larger meals during a 6 or 8 hour period, day 10am-6pm. That's all there is to that, and maybe some nice teas for the morning.

i get that less weight is better for you and would make walking with ms and other things easier but these kind of diets won¡t last, you¡ll gain the weight back. how about limiting your food to a protein based breakfast, say eggs, one egg is enough for me, 80 calories, then salads. and one carbohydrate a day, like toast with the bread. i buy small sandwich rolls and break them in two and freeze them. so 40 calories per half. toast that. you could put a fried egg on it, use pam if you don¡t want butter substitute,. this is energy for your day. not eating isn¡t good fir any part of you. protein vitamins. i used to be bulimic/anotexic, it doesn¡t work plus you can die. your heart is in danger.another muscle. seriously. talk to a doctor please first.

This isn’t what you asked but I thought my story might be an alternative for you to consider. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for a few years now. I am not 100% strict because…life and besides, “everything in moderation” is better for me. That plus a healthy diet allowed me to slowly take off 20% of my body weight and keep it off without backsliding. I don’t follow any specific diet and don’t count calories but figured out what works for me and keeps me feeling my healthiest despite my various health issues.

Good luck in finding what works for you and that you can stick with! Those are key.
