I had a boxer that had Cushings and always wanted to drink water and didn't care from where so the bathroom door had to stay closed and water was only down at certain times of day for her. She would drink to the point she would get sick and go back again

we had a basset that was in it ever time some one left the lid up...

None of mine either, but I once saw signs that one of my cats had slipped while trying to get a drink. She never tried again after that adventure.
