More about spoons

so here's the thing about spoons. I have made up a system that has worked for me. If the average 18 year old gets 100 spoons/day, then the average 58 year old woman gets 50 spoons per day. I get about 16. Notice the image below has holes in it. My spoon is a serving spoon. I seem to need more than my allotted amount on a regular basis. Not looking to add medication for fatigue but really, what do you all do to deal with the fatigue or affectionately known as spoon deficit? thanks. enjoy your weekend.

I used to take medication for fatigue, Modafinil. I haven't needed it much over the past couple of years since I started Ocrevus.

I take a recharge nap almost every day. I know this isn’t an option for everyone. I’ve found creative ways to fit it into almost every day, because for me it’s the best way to replenish. When I force my way through everything is harder. Also I don’t plan multiple back to back appointments any time I can avoid it and — at least schedule that one rest break midday.

I like your spoon metaphor. I struggle with intense daily fatigue-mentally and physically. It makes my body feel weak and I have a hard time with concentration and it can affect my memory at times. The first two hours in the morning are always the best for me then I feel the fatigue creeping in slowly. Some days it stretches to 3 or 4 hours until fatigue starts, but I think it depends what I’m physically doing during that time. If I burn up all my energy in the first hour after I wake up, then I’m toast by 10 am. It helps mostly when I take small breaks throughout the day after any task or activity I do that takes 20-30 minutes. I can’t nap during the day and wish I could, but I lie down a few times a day for a short period of time.

I did all the meds my Neuro's could think of. None worked worth a squat. Same for the pain at night. One of my Neurologists told me years ago about this thing called Cannabis. An energizing Sativa will definitely do the trick. I vape flower only for the pain. But for fatigue, edibles work just fine. Sativa strains vary in effectiveness. You can do the best research on line from others who report their findings, as no medical sources exist, yet.

Hey Mark, thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad you found something for the pain in your feet. do you feel like the sativa is working for fatigue? No THC, right? thanks

The pain solution is CBD and I use it from hemp flower. The fatigue solution is from Sativa which does have THC. But, I don't get "high" from THC, as many with M.S. don't. I read why not and understood it as best I could. Just don't ask me to repeat it. Google search it. It gets technical, and as an old engineer tech doesn't bother me, but 3 years of biology is nothing, compared to a doctor, so I understood what I could. Just know it works. So fatigued by early A.M. with so much to do, a bit of Sativa, and I'm ready to conquer the day's chores and move mountains. At least till it wears off. Though it's not a THC thing that gives the energy, an Indica loaded with THC will relax, but no energy to do anything. And not all sativas are energizing, so research to succeed in fighting fatigue.

I use to have the worst time with fatigue and caffeine for me through work, but I always needed a nap when I got home. Keto and intermittent fasting was a game changer after I had the first baby. Since then I’ve had another one, found ketones and have a medication I can’t take if I need it, but I don’t need if if my diet and sleep are good.
