I received a message on my website about a patient (22 yrs old) wanting to reach out to others in his age group and in the St Louis area meetings. I am reaching out to persons in that age range and Geographic area to respond so We can get more people involved with Support Groups. stlmsgroups.com

Thanks,

Mike

I've been to one group meeting in my area. Was totally weirded out when they start the meeting with, "Hi, I'm (name) and I have MS.) This is not AA!!!!!

I followed their protocol and when it was over I left to never return. It made me feel like MS was a deficit that I had to get over. An "ism". Nope! Not for me!

Sounds weird and uncomfortable. I mean, if there’s a 12 step program for quitting this thing, I’m game!

Exactly. I was the last person and had to sit uncomfortably while people spoke around the table.
