To preface this: I have seen a doctor, recently diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia but I have symptoms that do not align at all with TN. I have not seen a neurologist and unfortunately my current doctor is also leaving the area so I am back to square one unless I move. I am going to investigate this further but I will have to move first.
---Symptoms---
Headaches, cluster headaches, migraines and brainstem area headaches
Facial numbness and or tingling.
Sore throat, comes and goes.
Vision problems, blurry vision especially in hot environments/at work
Fatigue, Leg muscle fatigue
Bladder issues unexplained (loss of bladder control, less sensation/more leaks)
This does sound like possible MS but other diseases mimic the same symptoms so further testing would need to be done. Finding a good Neuro would be best. Good luck! Sorry that your doc is leaving. Hopefully you will get this sorted out soon. Keep us updated when you can.
try and find a Neuologist that specialist in MS for most others don't really understand it much...good luck with your move ...love and much happiness...
Some of your symptom can be those of MS, but can equally be symptoms of a range of other illnesses, and the symptoms you've listed may not all be from the same problem or problems and could be totally unrelated. No-none here can give you a diagnosis - no matter how many questions you post, and you need to discuss your symptoms with a doctor, and get a full set of bloods done to check for any issues such as Vitamin B12 or folate deficiency, both of which can cause some of your symptoms. Vitamin B12 deficiency especially can cause symptoms which mimic MS and other neurological conditions, while folate deficiency is often an undiagnosed cause of frequent headaches. Are you vegetarian/vegan? Often people who decided to go vegetarian or vegan end up with deficiencies of B vitamins (and other things) because they just cut out meat and/or animal products and thus develop deficiencies because they don't properly understand how they need to compensate for leaving out whole food groups from their diet.
Also, I don't understand why you have to move before you can see another doctor. Is the doctor you have been seeing who is leaving your area the only doctor where you live?
Your first course of action is to see a PCP/GP and get properly checked over, and discuss with them if a referral to a neurologist is required. Also, it would be a good idea to try and stop asking Dr Google too many questions as Dr Google is very good at leading people completely astray.
There are 2 sisters I know who have TN but definitely not MS. They suffer with symptoms with no relief, went all over the US seeing doctors. There were 2 doctors in Pittsburgh area that helped (each 1 different doctor). From their stories, TN is not a straight & easy road to maneuver either. I agree with finding a good neurologist to do all the required testing. Be prepared to wait for an appointment but do your research in choosing a doctor or possibly go to Cleveland Clinic if it's anywhere close. Good luck!
