Barrium Swallow Test
Glad you got through that test. It isn't a fun one. I've had to do it several times. Let us know the results.
keep us informed
Those are so gross that chalky shirt will damn bear make u puke
Not fun, but at least you’re done ✅. Have had to due them every year for the last five years. Mine is more because of th throat cancer ♋️ Have learned there are certain things that I can’t eat. Just doesn’t go down. Good luck and let us know results 👍🙏 Ken 🐾 🐾
Hope the results are good 👍
I tried to post the results with my post last night. But just as I had almost finished writing it, the devil sneezed somewhere and thewhole thing vanished and I was too tired to rewrite everything. So, here goes! The chalky stuff was pretty icky, yes. The speech therapist showed me the videos and explained my speech pathologist will probably want to teach me some exercises to strengthen my toung because I was not getting everything down toward my throat.
And she pointed out something in one video something I'd already planned to talk to my neurologist about: Gastroparethisis. I have suffered horrific acid reflux for years, but for about 2 years now, there has been a really irritating addition to the reflux--chronic belching! If I was in mid-school, I could win contests. But I'm 53 years old, forced by government to wear a !@#$#@*&%&#$!! mask, so it feels like I'm gassing myself all the time! And sure enough while doing the swallow test, the belching and reflux could not be constrained despite my best efforts.
So she told me I may have to give up my life's blood--coffee and spicy food. I am a native New Mexican! Green chile is what keeps me alive! And I'm not human without my coffee!!
Thank you. Now you know what is causing the problem, I know it is hard to give up things which are every day habits, such as coffee. Try and cut down gradually and see if you see a difference. Blessings Jimeka 🤗
Thanks so much for posting your results. I’m sorry you may have to give up some things you enjoy. I hope that, with time, you may be able to bring them back gradually.
As jimeka replied, hope the results are good, or like my PCP says 'unremarkable'
So glad this is over for you. Someone can say barium to me and I go away! I had one experience with that when I was young. I don't think anyone can pay me to do that again. Yuck!
