Each year, we feature the work of artists affected by multiple sclerosis in our annual MSAA Art Showcase, including highlighting one artist each month as our Artist of the Month. This month, we are proud to feature artist Leslie Pino of Jemez Springs, NM:

About the Artist: “When I was diagnosed with MS, my life was difficult to manage. I didn’t have a place to go to quiet my mind and body. So I picked up an art journal and a paintbrush and with the help of online art teachers and lots of practice, I learned to paint. I now have a place to go to that helps me get through fatigue, brain fog, and difficult days. Most importantly, I am proud to finally call myself an artist.”

That's a beautiful painting and a touching story of how painting is helping her cope with 'ms'. Thank you, CalfeeChick for sharing this with the forum. How are you doing, my friend? :-D

Doing a little better. Mentally tired. I have been on 100 percent quarantine for over 4 months, starting to get to me. We’re planing my garden beds now and that’s exciting for me. We had two really hot spells & couldn’t do anything. 4 days at 103 & 104😓😥,then 3 days at 103. Finally started cooling down last night. Thank you for your kindness 😊🙏

Wow 😳 too hot 🥵 no way I could be out in that. We have had a couple days in the low 90’s and it’s to hot 🥵 Have you’re vest on ?

Kenu Yes did wear the vest and a neck cooler. Even after an hour the rest of my body was too hot. I've taken to gardening in am, then showering and resting the rest of the day. We don't cook when it's that hot. We're learning which take out places we like. We discovered Dominoe's "Flat & crispy" pizzas. The have a nice veggie one and others with a variey of toppings.. Once in a while, I fix T-u-n-a sandwiches. Our "smarty cat" cat is at my leg begging even before I get a can open. We always share 1/3 of a can with him!
