When you lose insurance, you get it back again. The process is called coordination of benefits. I don't how and the rules.

Another path, and the one I followed, is to get Medicare. I'm on Medicare and have been on it for. 20 years. It's so long ago, I don't remember the details of Medicare enrollment, but having MS made it fairly easy to get Medicare. I also have secondary insurance to cover the 20% that Medicare doesn't cover.

Maybe someone else is in a similar position and remembers the details.

You might want to check what coverage is available in your state through the Affordable Care Act. Since you have lost insurance, you don’t have to wait for open enrollment. Good luck and please let us know how you make out.

I'm sorry to hear you've lost your insurance coverage, dadsbambina . As others have suggested you can reach out to a representative through the Healthcare Marketplace, healthcare.gov/. They can inform you of what benefits you'd qualify for and if you'd be eligible for assistance, they can be reached at phone 1-800-318-2596. MSAA also has an MRI Access Fund assistance program to help those who are uninsured with the cost of MRI testing, if this can be of help, mymsaa.org/msaa-help/mri/. I hope you're able to find assistance soon.

Take care,

thank you I appreciate your kindness. This is all very new to me not having insurance and very scary for me. I have used the MSAA with help for MRI's in the past they are life savers!!!
