Frustrated.

Feeling very frustrated as if late as I am sure most of you are for whatever reasons. I am considers an essential worker during this pandemic. I work as an assistant deli manger in a grocery store. In the beginning I was not to worried about this virus as it hadn’t really hit my state yet. Now I’m more worried since it’s hit here. I’ve asked my neuro if it’s ok to work. He stated the sane things I already new. Ms doesn’t make me more susceptible to it just could make me have complications If I get it. He says if I need to work just follow cdc guidelines which I do. My boyfriend has to work to but I don’t let him take the bus. I’m frustrated because it’s either with risk it or not work and not get paid or use what vacation time I do have to not work. I need the money because I have rent and a mortgage to pay in April. It’s just all so frustrating. That’s my rant for the day

I understand your frustration and worries. I hope everything workout for you.

Just so you know, in NYS you can not be evicted for non-payment of rent in the next 3 months. You will have to pay it at some point.

Our deli has the display cases in front of the workers. Is there tape on the floor so people keep 6 feet back? Can you wear a mask?

I hope you stay safe and I am keeping you in my thoughts!

I’m not worried about not paying I have the money for now. I also know bills come up and what not.

The case blocks us from the customers as much as possible. We have lines up and tell customers if they aren’t listening. It’s more when I’m on the sales floor. People just come right up instead of waiting for me to move. I wear gloves on the floor wash hands constantly. Doing all I can to stay safe. I do get frustrated with the customers to. Some don’t care. I’ve had a few not understand why.

Thank you. I’m staying as safe as I can.

I feel for you. You’re in the same spot as many people I know.

Can you explain to management your concerns about close contact with customers and ways to avoid it or limit it?

Many places are limiting the numbers of shoppers at any point, insisting on online or phone orders with no contact pick up.

I know you are being as careful as possible. Please keep it up and vent as often as you need to.

It is a hard time for everyone, but you have a responsible job for your town that you live in. People should be thanking you for what you have to do and they should be respectful of the social distancing rules, especially where food is concerned. People who work in any necessary business to keep people healthy and fed should be recognised, i for one am grateful for the bakery that delivers to my village. Keep up the good work, and rant as much as you want, better out than in, Blessings Jimeka 🤗 🍫

Most of the people have been considerate thanking us for working. There are a few who either don’t care or don’t get it

You are not alone! Do what you can to minimize your risk and let that settle your worry, because the stress of worrying can make you more susceptible to getting sick also.

I keep telling myself that some days I won’t stress some days I do. Taking these two days off and resting.
