Another successful item. I love the colour, your church is fortunate to have you as a member. Well done. Any signs of a sore throat this time? 🤗

Thank you. No sore throat but it's red still that seemed to not go away. I am thinking that it will heal as my white blood cells build back up

Very nice! My hands are getting itchy to start a new project. You are very talented and thank you for posting your creativity!

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply toCalfeeChick

Thank you. I know what you mean I usually have about 2 or 3 projects going at the same time

CalfeeChick profile image

I have yarn hidden all over the house and have replace all my books with new library of over 300 books. Only project I've been doing is adult coloring pages and trying to learn Sudoku to sharpen my gray matter😁

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply toCalfeeChick

I have yarn everywhere also. I dont read much unless it's something I can read in 1 sitting. My crocheting is they only thing that really relaxes me. I give so much to charity because I get so much pleasure out of doing my craft and if I sold it then it would be a job and I think it would not be fun anymore

To bad you don't live close to my daughter! She has three spinning wheels and loves to spin! She can do a basic crochet stitch and has done a few things but she's got more that she's spin than she will ever use!

That is really pretty! Is it a modified shell? The last ctochet project i did was a C2C baby blanket that took me over a month to do. I'm slow!

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply tohairbrain4

Yes I took it from another pattern and simplified it. I love 2c2 pattern. The other people in my prayer shawl ministry don't like to hear how long it takes me to do a project. Back in November we decided to make blankets from our over flo of yarn( about 40x60) the size of a nice throw and I have made 8 plus 2 prayer shawls and a few small pieces. But I don't do much but sit here and watch TV so I get a lot of crocheting done

There is a lady in my Bible study class that brings me lap size ones to donate to our local cancer charity for chemo patients. She brings one each week & they aren't just simple patterns either. She said she just works on them in the evenings. She must be going 90 mph! Makes me feel so inadaquit.

When you have patterns that you like they go pretty fast. I can do a blanket made for a queen size bed in about 2 weeks. Longer if the pattern is more difficult shorter if the pattern is more simple. First time doing a pattern it will very how long it takes and I usually have to take it apart a few times before I can go with it and finish it. It is so nice that your Bible study friend does this

I'm envious of you! Now I'm going to have to go ask for forgiveness again! :-)

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply tohairbrain4

I know what you mean I am envious of people that can do things that I would like to do but can't. Now we all need to take a knee and just be happy with what we can do.

Great color. I volunteer at a pregnancy help center. We make gift bags to give new moms, and I live to put a homemade blanket on top, shows love.

Thank you. I have made baby hats and blankets for the pregnancy center near me also the womens health clinic

What an interesting stitch! Where did you learn all this?

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply tomrsmike9

I taught myself and I have patterns that I get on line or from the yarn and I modify them to do what I want

mrsmike9 profile image
mrsmike9 in reply toTurtlepie

Wow!! I would get so confused if I tried that!

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply tomrsmike9

I didn't learn to read a pattern till I was almost 30 and it was awhile before I could understand some. I am 62 now and I started crocheting when I was 10

mrsmike9 profile image
mrsmike9 in reply toTurtlepie

I am 60 and could never, even in my younger days, figure out where to put my fingers for both knitting and crocheting! You are talented!

Thank you. It's because I would take it out when I found a mistake even if it's 3 or more rows. I even took a complete project apart that I was almost finished with to fix a mistake. But I still love my craft
