I have wondered for several years why it is that near all the disabled parking spots, there are never any cart return racks. I always have to walk long distances to return carts.
Do any of you find this to be a problem?

Absolutely true! I've mentioned it to my husband several times. I would rather drive around until I find an open spot next to a cart rack and walk farther. Feel so much safer walking with a cart
I haven’t really noticed but since you mentioned it you are correct. They’re always a walk away🤔. That’s why I use the motorized carts and I leave it near the handicap parking space when I leave.
no haven't found that ours are by the racks at all of the stores i have been to ...sorry it is good here...
Depending what row you park in, there are some near handicap spots. Other rows are farther down. Don't know who is in charge of designing the parking but its ridiculous.
Yes I have & have you noticed that some of the handicapped places are quite a ways from the entrances?
The hotel my husband and I stayed at while visiting my son who just got back from Kuwait, their only 2 handicap spots were in the spots farthest from the entrance. My husband was livid. Going off about who designed the parking lot. He's been making me park in the handicap spots when they're not all taken even if I don't think I need it that time.
Most of the places I go have cart returns next to the handicap spots. Some don't have cart returns in the parking lot at all and others seem to have them on the opposite side of the parking lot from the disabled spots. What's up with that?
Good ?
I am with starlight 5 I will park next to the buggy return and if you do get a driving buggy, which I don't like, you still have to stand up to get products, where do you put that if you are by yourself?hmmmm?
Here in Meridian Idaho Albertson’s, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and really most other stores are near cart return. If you have the stores phone number you can call and they bring out cart to you, so that’s an option. Most stores have comment cards also for requests. 👍 Ken 🐾🐾
I have wondered this also!
Something that is appropriate for all of us and another great line from Shawshank
I don't have that problem but I see those cart returns long ways away from the handicap parkings. 🤔 Smh. ♥️🌹
Yes, indeed. I have suggested that exact thing as I am always looking for a cart to assist me when walking in the store. I will suggest again
You need to leave cart near your car . People who are more handicapped , like myself , need something to hold on to to get into the store . I have told stores about this and now they leave carts near handicapped parking where I live .
I just leave the cart in a place that won’t disturb other cars, a lot of times, I will flag down an employee to take my cart. I do not break my ass returning the cart, as it’s not my fault they cannot cater to those of us with mobility problems.
I have given this some thought & come up with this: there is a ratio that is used to figure how many parking places are needed for any given parking place depending on 1. what type of place it is & who would be using it.
The law says you have to have X amount of places to park depending on what type of establishment it is, It does not specify where they have to be! That is how they do it!! Some yrs back I got to help build a church from start to finish & that was one of the situations we had to deal with.
Yes I definitely do. I'm a little old lady that drives around and circles the handicapped areas 2 and 3 times until I find one with an electric scooter left next to it. That's what I need at this point to get around. If I go into one of those big box stores without one I don't last 10 minutes before I'm shot. Fancy..
I just leave my cart by the car. I use the electric cart
Some stores feel that parking spaces near the enterances are more important. They have to put a certain amount of cart returns for a certain amount of parking spaces. They dont have to take into account the types of parking spaces & they clearly don't.
My husband and I just had this conversation.
