Washout period for Techfidera?

I am curious as I am going to see my Neuro in a few weeks and will most likely have to change my dmt cause my white blood cell numbers keep dropping and I am positive for JC Virus (.92) Any input would be greatly appreciated.

That's a medical question that needs to be directed to your neurologist. Even if some people reply, please go to your neurologist and get it from the man or woman you pay the big money to take care of you for with your MS. Once again with everyone Samus being so unique you want to wash up. It might be slightly different than someone else . That was what would worry me so we can please see her neurologist for your answer. Fancy..

Thanks Fancy1959 :) I plan to talk to my neuro when I see him in a few weeks. Was just wondering what was a 'typical' experience.

I was off Tecfidera 30 days before starting Ocrevus. I had the same issue being JC+

My number for JC got to 3.9! They stopped all Tysabri instantly and sent me to a cancer specialist because of my white blood cell count. Thankfully all ended well. I cannot remember washout time, does not seem long, but of course your neuro will have to answer that. I loved Tysabri and was so sad. Let us know. Love, Kelly

That's what happened to me after Techfidera! The cancer specialist said, "Stop taking it and get your blood checked in a week." So I did. My counts after only a week were still a bit low but they were coming up.

I had to change away from Techfidera and didn't have to wait for any lingering stuff to leave my body. I went straight from that to something else.

I'm down to 2.7 and have been for about 4 years. But that doesn't mean yours will stay low. Could be different reasons, but they couldn't find one for me, even with a bone marrow biopsy. Eh, who knows?
