I've been doing a lot of reading and listening and came across the suggestion to get a Balance Service Dog.
I'm really considering it. Sure is a big investment, but I'm thinking before I'm wheelchair bound this may actually help me stay mobile longer. Any thoughts out there?

I just searched for it here is a link to what I found. Basically you use the dog instead of a cane. It is a service dog trained for helping with balance. Down side with this cane you have to walk and feed it 😁🤣😂😃
I have a German Shepherd who has helped me get off the floor when I get done exercising. He also laid by my side when I fell until my husband came home to get me.
He has only been trained in basic obedience and not as a service dog but what he does know and do instinctively is very helpful and beyond charming to me.
what a wonderful idea and may in my future,i do think it may be more than I could take care of,he would expect to be walked everyday not just when I think I feel good
I have a service dog wanna be. He may be a balence dog. He helps me get up. He walks beside me leaning into me so I don’t fall. He is not frightened about my walker and walks next to my walker. He helps me get in/out of the shower. My dr offered to certify him, but in reality-he is the family pet. That is why I say wanna be.
Yes very expensive so I adopted bull mastiff. He helps as much as possible and is great with other pets. He has assisted me more than a few times. I just couldn’t afford a true balance companion . Boy does he watch me. I walk him with electric chair. My dream is to really walk him, I guess goal he deserves it.
