My name is Cheryl. I was diagnosed with MS in 2013.
I have been married for 38 years and I have two children and 3 wonderful grandkids.
I enjoy the outdoors and being with family and friends.
I have played the flute since I was 12 years old. The MS has kept my arms from holding my flute up to play. I am hoping to play my flute again.
I volunteer each May at the MS Walk held in my city. I also volunteer each September at the MS luncheon held at our country club in my city .
I taught preschool and pre k for 15 years. It took me a long time to get over not being able to teach any more . My balance was not allowing me to stand any more and my energy level was not there to keep up with the kids I had in class.
I stay as positive as I can and I try not to give in to the MS.

Hi, Cheryl. I am new here too. But, I wanted to tell you, I had a similar problem with playing an instrument. I played the clarinet in a community band until 2004. I was diagnosed with MS in 2003. My second relapse cause a tremor in my face and ruined my embouchure. Also, I could not stand the heat when playing outside concerts. But, in 2004 we bought a sailboat, so that is my main hobby ever since. If I get hot, I take my โnoodleโ and jump in the water to cool off.
