Wow I thought that I was bad taking 3 1/2 weeks to shake the cold I had but now the fatigue has gotten so bad that I can barely get up. I manage to get my grandson to school and back but that’s the extent of the day. Thank God his schools only 4 miles away. I’m having a hard time adjusting to this. Normally the modafinil will get me up and out but not this round.
MS def sucks.

No I’ve havent. We were talking about a round of steroids when I saw him last month but I’m just trying to weather the storm because that will mean more MRIs and probably a change in dmt. I’m gonna try to get an appt with a new neuro this week for at least a second opinion.
Donnie - sorry you’re under the weather again. Did you see your primary dr. when you had the never ending cold? Blood work now “could” be helpful in case it didn’t got away...rather than waiting a couple weeks until seeing the new neuro. -Kris
Doubled51 , Donnie, it’s horrible particularly when you think you have had a decent night. Sometimes it’s harder if you try to fight it. I know I could go back to bed some mornings and the feeling behind the eyes 👀, it’s so heavy, I empathise. Please be careful driving though. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🤗
The common cold is the one thing that can put me back to extreme exhaustion! Last cold I had, just a head cold mind you, felt like it was entering my spine, as my back started to feel so tense. Took a week off (this irritated me to have to take vaca days for a cold) then I called my Neurologist for the lovely IV steroids and that cured that problem. But I am so fearful of catching a cold - so your not alone. I hope you start to feel better soon!
Your so right Julie. I never dreamed a cold could cause so much trouble. But it’s the first one I’ve had since ms came into the picture. I’ve got to learn it’s a new world.
Thank you. My colds a lot better now if the fatigue would just follow suit.
Hello Donnie, Im shelley. I know what you mean. I had a urinary tract infection infection last october that leveled me. I was in bed for two weeks and the fatigue has not left me this whole year! Ms Sucks! I constantly berate myself as lazy until I do something like take a shower or wash a load of laundry and I'm done for the day. I also relied on Modafinal for years but Im not sure if its doing anything at all. Im afraid if I stop I wont be able to get out of bed at all in a few days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the cool autumn weather will help some, the hot, humid summer definitely didnt help. Keep on keeping on!
Hi Shelley. I had a urinary tract infection earlier this year and it took 2 3 day rounds of IV steroids to get back on my feet. I never though a head and chest cold could cause this much fatigue. All my modafinil is accomplishing is giving me enough energy to get my grandson to school and back. The rest of my days spent in the recliner. I’ve been on the phone and internet trying to find a new ms Neuro who takes my insurance. I guess I’ll start again in the morning.
The fatigue and depression that comes with it...is a def hard one. This is not us...it is MS.The us would get up and dance, get on the go...I pray you feel better...I wish we all lived near to have a self help group!
