HEAT and SMOKE 💨

It’s 8:am and the smoke from surrounding fires 🔥 is settled in the valley. It also has been in the triple digit last few days 100 plus 🤬. This is Meridian Idaho and the 🔥 smoke is blowing in from Washington,Oregon, and California. The news says 80 percent caused by humans 🤬. The big one in California they caught the guy, he was driving down the road throwing flares out his window 🤬🤬. How stupid, what is wrong with people 🤷🏼‍♂️. Several people died, including fire fighters and 1,000’s of homes burned 😢. We have a extreme heat alert and warnings to stay in out of smoke 💨. And back east they are having flooding from the rain 🤷🏼‍♂️. Crazy 😜 weather 🤷🏼‍♂️. Thank you Lord for AC🙏. Wish everyone well 👍. 😉🐾 Ken

Unfortunately, that is another prime example of the evil that takes up residence in the hearts of men. I feel for ya in the heat, we are getting a break from it today and it's nice, y'all are in my thoughts and prayers on the heat and the fires. It's been more than 10 years (maybe 12) when we had the raging wild fires around here, I was on the airport crew working to refuel and fill the fire bombing aircraft. They had a pilot spot opening but I didn't have all the low level flight experience they needed to meet ins. requirements. I started logging it afterward to build it up if the opportunity ever arose again but well.... stuff happens... hope y'all are able to stay cool. ❄

I live in Massachusetts and I just got a weather alert of severe thunderstorms and rain for this afternoon. I know they say we are having a drought but I would give you the rain if I could so they can get control of those horrible fires you are having I am prayingC 🙏🏼 that they get control of them. I would probably be having a problem with the smoke being that I have asthma.

Years ago Canada was having fires and here in Massachusetts the smoke was down here that’s a long way.

Ya my wife has chronic asthma and is staying inside 👍. My furbabie Sniper has allergies and asthma so he has been getting Benadryl for his cough. Both furbabies are in and out real quick 👍🙏🐾. Ken

Stay safe with the smoke and if its that bad I would use a mask if you have to go out side. Make sure you have your albuterol and Flovent. I just heard that tomorrow it is going to be very hot and with the humidity it’s going to feel like triple digits. I guess I’ll be in the house.

We in Southern Oregon are sure weary of the smoke and heat. The air quality has been listed as dangerous for weeks. It's hardly enticing to tourists! If I'm out for more than a few minutes, I wear a mask, but mainly people are staying inside.

It's a crazy world we live in. Stay safe!

The "authorities" around here recommend a mask with a rating of at least N95 to catch the particulates from the smoke. I have some that are N100. With the heat, it just seems smarter to stay inside as much as possible.

I think I got some of them from Lowe's, and others from Amazon, if I remember correctly. Amazon has some that are disposable and some that are washable.

I want to take the kids down to Crater Lake to see the Milky Way before school starts. I’ve been checking their webcams and it will look ok in the AM but by the afternoon you can’t see Wizard Island with the smoke being so heavy. Now the smoke is that heavy basically all day. Coming from the PDX area I need a place to stay for a couple of nights so I’ll be lucky if we can make it there this summer. Better to stay inside with the ac on if you have it and by all means definitely wear a mask when you need to go outside. Stay safe greaterexp.

I heard the fire started from mechanical failure of a vehicle. Haven't seen/heard about the guy throwing flares.

he is probably a Californian who thru the flares [I'm a Californian]. We have a lot of fire starters that are the lowest of people.

Yes, the fire is in Carr but I think it was actually started from a car that was having some kind of issues.

The sun in Southern Cal is a weird orange color due to the fire in Redding. Wildfiresare dangerous and destructive. I feel so bad for the people and the wildlife. I hope they can stop it soon. Life is different now that the climate is changing.

Wow Ken when I saw your photo you posted I thought you lived in Northern California not Idaho. Here in Southern California where I am it was overcast the last few days but today is clear and sunny. I haven’t been out much lately, after my vacation in Europe I got tendonitis in my left knee and it’s been so hot. 😀❤️

I had not heard they caught the (insane) guy. Yeah! I'm always watching the news and praying for the people who live there and those who are fighting these horrible fires. What a nightmare!

I live in the PDX metro area and we’ve gotten some of the smoke up here from the OR and CA fires. Last year it was particularly bad with the fires in the Gorge. Not only was it the smoke but we also had ashes in the air as well. I feel really bad for those in the area that don’t have ac. We just ended a 10 day stretch of a 90° heat wave which is nothing compared to other areas in the US. The bad thing is that you never hear that this is resulting from climate change/global warming/climate chaos.

plunmopuHi Keni I hope things are getting better. Here in Massachusetts we just got a little weather warning It is for flash floods we may be getting rain 1 to 2 inches an hour. I said to my husband I think 🤔 the hoses for the sumppump needs to go out I wish I could send it.
