So last few days i have a new symptom that just wont go away. My hands have been killing me cuz i have tendonitis so the cold has been making it worse. But now my left hand has the stupid pins and needles thing going on and i hate it! Hate this stupid disease that keeps stealing little parts of me every day.

Oh, Midgey_Midge06 - this is the best place to have a pity party. I so feel your pain- literally - except it's my right hand that's all pins and needles and my left one feels like someone's been pounding on it with a hammer. Wish I could give you some sage advice, but I've yet to find a way to relieve this. Hang in there, girl, it's got to get warmer some day!
Totally. But then again its Texas so in a few months i will be complaining about the heat. π€£π€£.
I am glad i am not alone in the hand thing. It just sucks. I have been so worried about losing the use of my legs i never gave my hands a second thought til now. Live and learn i suppose!
texandyroe I found sports gloves.I get spongy tape and put compression on, gloves over tighten then over the taped hands.Yes I look dorky but for an hour I put those on(cirulations and feet also.....)when I take it off I get the ahhhhhh feeling of reliefe.I have to be careful not to cut circulation off.Massage is good while you sit if you can.
Itβs ok to have a pity party π Midgely has good suggestions. There is Eucerin βcalmingβ cream that I used to massage my knee after a replacement. I noticed big difference in my handsπarthritis. May want to try that. Hope you get some relief and hopefully itβs a symptom that fades away.
Midgey_Midge06, it's Fancy1959. Don't you worry at all about needing someone to talk to or as you put it having your pity party. We all do it from time to time. What makes this chat room such an awesome places there are so many people you can lean on when you just can't take it anymore. I sharing it seems to like the reload an immensely.
My hands also bother me. To have the tingling sensation of pins and needles in them. They're numb from about the elbow down they feel swollen all the time but they are not. I have lost all tactile sensation in them. In other words everything I touch be at the chair table the side of my face all feels the same. Everything I touch feels like sandpaper to me. I also have extremely limited text her. It drives me nuts! Do you take any Neurontin for any issues you are currently having? Neurontin helps with the tingling and the pain in my hands. My feet are also affected but to a much lesser degree. I can tell if I forget to take a dose because my Neurontin, because my hands tingle much more intensely and become all but painful because the tingling is so intense.
If you're not on Neurontin you might ask your neurologist the next time you see him or her about possibly getting on it to help manage the pain in your hands.
Fancy1959, I would go bonkers without Neurontin. It almost eradicates the abnormal, prickling sensations that affect my lower legs at night. It's been a real boon...
It is so strange that you posted this. I was just telling my husband tonight how bad my hands have been hurting me. They ache like crazy, cramp up like claws, get the pins and needles, and are just useless sometimes. I simply cannot do anything with them. I truly feel your pain. And I certainly agree with your statement.. I hate this monster that truly steals away pieces of us one piece at a time. Sometimes I wonder, how much of me will be left by the time it is done with me? I already donβt recognize the person I have become. I wish you better days and will be praying for you. Love, Kelly xx
