Being apprehensive is quite normal. Take a deep breath & try to relax. Here's a post from last year when it was approved. mymsaa.org/publications/msr...

That will get you started on some info. There are many members of our MS group that have started it, some have got to the second round after 6 months. I hope they will soon comment and ease your mind. You can also do a search here by just entering Ocrevus in the search area. Not sure if you are on a cell phone or pc, but to the right of our comments area, there are links to treatments and recent comments about Ocrevus.

Now, Shan58 I don't recall seeing you here, so let me welcome you to the site. I hope you will continue to join us, read along, make comments, ask and answer questions. I looked around quite a bit and then found this group and forum. Right from the start you should know we care about you, and we are here for you. So Welcome, please keep coming back!

Hi Shan, you haven’t been around for a while, how are you doing? There are lots of members on here on Ocrevus, but it appears to be like ms is, it affects each individual differently. Hope it goes well and let us know how you get on. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🍫 🙏

I go tomorrow for my second half dose. I have taken Avonex since being diagnosec in 2008, and the flu side effects never went away. So far no side effects from first dose. It was great to not be sick for 3 days after taking a med. good luck!

Hi shan58 I have gone through my first two Half doses. I was told to have someone drive me. You can get tired because they do give you Benadryl. I knew I fell asleep while having it. While having it I had no problems on having the first dose I was fine the second dose after being at home for about five hours my legs were unstable now that could have just have been me because my legs are unstable any way. The next morning they were fine. I can’t really say if it is helping me because one thing I live in the north east in the USA we have been having terrible weather this winter. I had my doses in September and October I will be having my next full dose April 6th.

I don’t know where you will be having yours but where I had my was at Beth Israel Devoness Hospital it was cold in the room I was in i brought my heating pad on the second dose. But that was just me.

You should not worry about it, but I was and also it is something different so everyone one gets a little nervous.

Good luck 👍

Hello Shan58 my name is Allen and I am in my 10th month of Ocrevus. If you click on my profile 9 have been trying to keep everyone up to speed as much as I can with updates. I am currently doing pretty good with it. There are ups and downs with it all. However the gains far outweigh the side effects so far. I am coming up on my year mark and next infusion in May and plan to continue with Ocrevus. If you look at my profile and posts you can get an idea of what I have encountered in my particular journey. I have veen doing pretty good the last week or so. So all is good right now.

Thoughts and prayers,

Allen

Hi Shan58! I recently started O in January of this year. I'm fairly new to it. The infusion went well. No interactions while getting dose.I can't say it helping as of yet. But I can say I have my MS meds out the way for six months. I'm hopeful that it will improve something along the way.Good luck with yours!

Welcome! I have learned a lot from the kind folks in this forum. I'm certain you will too. I have PPMS and started on Ocrevus in January. I was a bit apprehensive but my concerns were unfounded. The infusion went smoothly and I had zero side effects. I arrived at infusion center at 8am and left around 2pm. My infusion center is lovely and they give you snacks and/or lunch if you like. The nurses are kind and attentive. They even have heated blankets if you like. I took my e-reader and read some and dozed some so the time went quickly. i don't know if the Ocrevus will slow the progress of my disease, but I am very hopeful and will continue with the treatments. Good luck to you!

Hi! I go for my first round of ocrevus on March 29. Feeling just as scared as you might feel.

I’m more worried about side effects.

I have diabetes and heart problems so I’m worried about those problems too.

Good luck to you!

I share your thoughts. It's suppose to help rebuild and the only treatment for this. I will pray that it helps rebuild all that it can. I worry much about side effects as I read but I also know it has someone who needed a walker and doing better since treatment. Hard to do but trust and believe you are in good hands. Ask questions.

Shan58: It's okay to be nervous. I had my 1st full dose in January. I didn't have any problems with the infusions. It did leave me weaker for a few weeks. So far I feel no changes in my MS, but not getting any worse is a win in my book. Praying all goes well for you 🙏.

After fifteen years of pain and searching I feel most docs say PT. I have been blessed listening to my body and intuitive self. I feel pain management will help but I don't drive. I am looking into transit help. My sister will help but I don't like asking. Take care.

Hi shan. I've had two half doses. I quit worrying when someone posted that they worried for nothing. They were right! My experience has been a piece of 🍰 so far. Good luck.
