Ocrevus - second 1/2 of first dose today

Hi All...I had the second 1/2 of the first dose of Ocrevus today. The pre-dose Benedryl knocked me out again for about a 1/2 hour. I didn't have any negative reaction to the infusion same as last time and this time my heart rate didn't go up either. It was sort of a non-event for me except for making me feel extra tired. (That occurred for the first half dose too.) I don't have any idea if its the Ocrevus or because I'm stuck sitting in the infusion center for 6+ hours. Dose two is scheduled for the first week in June. The neuropathy in my legs is a little worse than normal too but that could also be from having to sit for 6+ hours without moving around much.

I'm happy for you. Hopefully tomorrow with you moving around your legs will rebound with even more mobility. That is my my prayer for you!!! Merry Christmas.

Raingrrl I hope and pray that you see some improvement with this dose eventually when it has time to work. In the meantime, rest up and I hope that you are not too tired to enjoy the Christmas season. Blessings Jimeka 🎄 🙏

Thanks Juleigh21 ! By the end of the day I also had a really bad headache. I think it was from the infusion because I haven’t had a headache like that in a long time. I took 2 Excedrin for Migraine and the headache was gone when I woke up. The neuropathy in my legs was only a little noticeable today. So I’m back to feeling ‘normal’ for me.

Raingrrl , glad it went well for you. It is interesting that they give you Benadryl first. My friend was on Humira and now Remicade for ulcerative colitis/Crohn's disease, and every time she gets an infusion they give her Benadryl also. Is this done with all infusion therapies for autoimmune diseases? Do those of you on Tysabri, for example, get Benadryl or something similar before the infusion?

Hi Sukie427 ! When I had my first three doses of Tysabri, I was given Solumedrol before the Tysabri. No pre-meds were given for subsequent doses.

The nurse that gave me the first Ocrevus infusion said that they will follow the same protocol for each Ocrevus dose. So I guess I can expect to be given Tylenol, Benedryl and Solumedrol every time prior to the Ocrevus infusion..
