Need some prayers...please

I have not been on the forum for a long time, but I read all the posts and think of you all everyday. I need some prayers. I don’t like to ask, but I don’t know what else to do. I am trying to get used to using my wheelchair. My pain is over a ten on the scale, all day long. I have to have surgery because my intestines have dropped into my rectal cavity...yuck I know! I fell today and split my head on the counter. This is the fourth forehead split in four months. I am still so grateful for all the blessings in my life. I have 11 marvelous kids, well three are step kids. I have 15 beautiful, healthy grandchildren and the most wonderful husband. And I have the Lord to lean on. But I need to know, how do all of you deal with this excruciating pain? I pray for all of you. Love, Kelly

I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through. I, as yet, don’t have such egregious symptoms or pain. Considering what you’re dealing with you have a great attitude in focusing on what blessings you do have. I hope if I’m ever in your situation I can be as strong, and not let MS destroy my spirit or who I am.

I will include you in my prayers. Best wishes.

Michael

HathMD52 thank you so much for your kind words and your prayers. We’re you a doctor when you worked? One of my twin sons and his wife are both in their third year of medical school. Very busy! You are such a kind man. God bless.

in reply toAmore55

I’m glad I can be of any help. Funny you should ask if I’m a Dr. When a friend was trying to set me up with my future wife he told her I was a Dr. My wife being a nurse was very excited I was a Dr. When she found out I had a PhD she blurted out “you’re not a real Dr” 😀. Keeps you humble. Well it didn’t stop us from dating and eventually getting married.

HathMD52. What a great story! I love to hear how married couples met, such funny stories. Thank you again for your kindness. Kelly

Prayers for you to feel better !

Pain can be a daily visitor, You asked how we each “deal” with it . The only “tool” I keep handy is my memory to distract the signals - I will on one hand touch each finger to the thumb one ata time, then do opposite order on the other hand , all the time walking around- that usually derails it - God bless -

Amore55 oh Kelly. Is it the ms that causes you pain or is it your bowel problem? You are definitely on my prayer list. Now I know what areas to pray in. So sorry that you have fallen again. What with you and Doubled51 and myself and quite a few others, falling is definitely up on the ms agenda. I don't have any ideas on how to cope, only this morning someone else was asking how I coped, thinking of others helps me a lot, heat pads, I salute the person who invented microwave heat pads. I even have my own microwave in my bedroom. My heat pads come in all shapes and sizes, owl, penguin, but I have yet to find a butterfly one. I don't know what to suggest, just remember that we all love you, and when you hurt, we all hurt. Big blessings, Jimeka big 🤗 🍫💐🦋🌈

Jimeka. Thank you for your love and prayers. I know you are close to the Lord. My bowel problem only hurts when I have to use the restroom if you know what I mean. 😜 I have to use a glove and pull everything out yuck. Probably too much information. But I have to do this twice a day, very painful. I will start looking for a butterfly heating pad! You certainly deserve one. I was interested in something you posted the other day. I too have offered my sweet hubby a divorce, but like yours he says never, he married me in sickness and in health. What good men we have been blessed with, right? I love you, Jimeka. Kelly xx

Amore55 , I continue to pray for you. Your continued falls, pain, and struggles are very concerning. Have you been able to see your neuro, or contemplated seeing another one if yours can't fit you into his schedule before your Dec appt? I just don't understand a neuro who wouldn't see you when you continue to decline as you have. Praying you get seen soon and that your doctor has some answers for you. I'm sorry life seems so overwhelming right now. 💕

Tutu. Thank you for your loving post! You truly are an amazing lady. Mark and I decided to see my neuro one more time and then make a decision. I don’t think the Plegridy is doing anything for me. I have to admit I am so tired of falling. We are wondering if we will have to move into a single floor house soon. It would be much easier for me. We will see. I love you Dawn, my dear friend. Kelly xx

in reply toAmore55

A single floor house is the best move we made. Our last house was split level. Absolutely exhausting. They are hard to find these days the trend is tri level.

Amore55 , how sorry I am that you’ve struggled so deeply and for so long. I marvel at your fortitude, but know this off the chart pain is taxing you greatly.

I would wonder about a switch in doctors. There may be options for treatment of your MS or at least for the pain that have not been addressed. One would think in this day and age that something could be found to ease your pain.

If you don’t already subscribe to Joni Earecksen Tada’s daily posts, I have found them to be wonderful.

I’m so glad you’ve asked for prayer; we can do so little across the miles, but we can always pray for one another. I’ll be praying for God’s miraculous comfort and relief from this pain, as well as the upcoming surgery. It must be difficult to post here, but I do hope you can keep us abreast of your situations. You’ve made many friends here who care deeply about you.

greaterexp Thank you for your great response. It was so uplifting. You always know just what to say to everyone, that is a gift. I will look at the suggested post, thank you for the info. You really would think that I could get something for pain. But I will keep on chugging along. God bless you, thank you for your friendship and prayers. Love, Kelly xx

in reply toAmore55

You should get something for pain, I do get 4 hydrocodone 5-325 per day. It's not much but can take the edge off slightly for a couple hours each dose.

Amore55 I'm so sorry for you problems and for your pain as well as your falls. As jimeka mentioned I'm also a member of the frequent faller club. I fell pretty hard last week on asphalt and still suffering from the sudden stop at the bottom. Lol. But I make it no secret that as a chronic pain sufferer for the last 10 years I survive on fentanyl and oxycodone. Without them I'd be miserable. I'm just finished 4 months of plegridy and for me it seems to be working by my last MRIs.

But medicine I can't change for you but pray for you I can do.

Father I ask you to touch my sister with your healing hands. Take this pain from her body. Heal her intestine problem and her.balance problems. In your word you tell us that we were healed by the stripes of Jesus. That we were healed not that we will be. I plea the blood of Jesus Christ over her and her situation. Father I know that you are a miracle working God and we ask for a miracle for our friend. We ask these thing in the name above all names. The name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

God bless you my friend.

Amore55 Kelly, I don't know what to say. I feel just awful for what you are going through. I agree that there must be more they can do in this day and age to alleviate your extreme pain? I hope that you are able to find a medical professional that will do this for you and that Bygonelines is able to help you get an appointment soon.

I am about to pray a Rosary and will include your intentions. Please keep us posted, when you are able, on how you're doing?

Hugs, Lisa

Don't ever be afraid to ask for prayers. Such a simple thing to ask for and yet so very powerful. Hope you get relief.

I'm praying for you. Your really struggling. I have pain excruciating especially the nuerological pain. I just try and hang in there. Oh, Amore55! You make me feel like a piker! Even though I have lived with MS for 30 years, they tell me my MS is very mild. I was feeling a little sorry for myself today and then I read your post. Shame on me - I have nothing to feel sorry about! Sending good thoughts your way and remember DEGU - "Don't Ever Give Up!"

SueAB Oh, please don’t feel like you can’t feel sorry for yourself. We all walk different roads and all are very challenging. But like Fancy1959 would say “together we are stronger”. Thank you so much for reminding me to never give up, so important. Please stay in touch, you are an amazing person! Love, Kelly

You are a humble, courageous, loving, godly woman. I have and will continue to pray for you. I pray when I have excruciating pain and I go to a pain management specialist. Before I went to specialist for spine and rehabiltation who managed my muscle spasms and neurological pain with the knowledge of MS. I feel bless to have found them. I had to call my neurologist for recommendations or the doctor who is going to do the surgery. But this is not perfect. If I know my pain is from my spine or where i had surgery in knee, put ice on it helps to numb the nerves. And I still pray and cry out to God. Thank him when not in pain and when I am in pain for my blessings.
