Looking for Caregiver assistance

My father in law has MS and has been wheelchair bound for 18 years. He fell out of his chair last week and can no longer transfer from the chair to bed or the toilet. Looking for assistance to help with these daily transfers. He lives in Waller off of Riley road near Houston.

Hi Petemurphy001 I'm so sorry that your father-in-law is having such a hard time.

Please go to mymsaa.org and see what they can do for him. Better yet just call them. 800 532-7667 ext 154 I'm sure they will be able to at least point you in the right direction.

Pete murphy001, so sorry to hear your family is struggling. Every county has a Department on Aging and you could also check there. Sending good thoughts your way.

Pete - Also check with your local 211 or 311 service. They can put you in touch with agencies in your area that can help.

If you can get a hoyer lift that will help. My husband can no longer transfer on his own but the Hoyer helps tremendously.

I would contact social services and they can put you in touch with home health aides
