hi.
How i celebrate my first birthday with M.S which will be July 10?.
I also need to know if flying in an international flight more than 16 hours and at least two planes can hurt an M.S patient?.
Thank you.
Maria.

I'd celebrate by doing something that you love and can still do!
i took the buses and went to the mall. I was so proud of my self.
marie66mm That is great! I still drive, but usually rely on my husband. I generally stay within 5 miles from home, if I'm by myself.
marie66mm hi there and welcome! I know that flt would whip my butt with or without MS. Do all you can to rest, relax and stay hydrated. Move about all you can to avoid spasms. Try to plan for rest upon arrival. Wish you well on your travels!
Have a great trip! Make sure you get plenty of rest and ENJOY!
marie66mm , There have been articles on travel and MS which would have great ideas. Keeping your meds with you, arranging for wheelchair transport, even if you walk well, to prevent fatigue, staying hydrated, getting a seat very near the restroom, and other hints are some I've read. I don't know if it's true, but I've read that it's a good idea to keep the overhead fan off, since the air is recirculated, to help prevent URIs. Wash your hands frequently, too.
Have a wonderful trip and let us know how it went.
I'm MS patient diagnosed in 2013 in my country. Hello! I visited my family by flying 16 hours plus 3 or 4 hours transfer time. (Yes, I live in the middle part of US Yes, spending time on the plane isn't fun like everyone (and I wish I was one of the fist class customer but it didn't affect on my MS symptom. It is my experience and I hope it helped to answer your questions.
Have traveled a great deal since my retirement. Get an aisle seat or extended leg room. Get up and walk up & down the aisle periodly. As said before hydrate and wear support stockings. 😊
marie66mm , I have flown these distances and times with MS and can honestly say that the MS did not impact, in any way, the flight time or distance because I exercised my feet and lower legs every few minutes throughout to keep circulation optimal. I got up and walked the aisles every hour or two for 5-10 minutes. The cabin crew brought a glass of water to everyone each hour so we stayed well hydrated. My advice: Listen to travel recommendations and follow them. Don't allow yourself to become dehydrated or cramped or spastic. Move to the extent that you are allowed throughout the flight. MS itself has far less to do with successful travel than being wise about the care of your body.
Happy Birthday! 🎊🎉 I would take something to help me sleep on the flight and leave my itinerary open in case I need more rest. Like the others have said, there are pro MS travel tips floating about the internet also. I had two trips like that my first year also and pushed myself way too far during the first one and paid for it. Listen to your body and good luck!
