Hi Ponymonroe welcome!😊 Here at MSAA COMMUNITY we are run as an anonymous group.πŸ˜€ So everyone can feel free to speak up.

If your looking to meet with a support group, I know that the nationalmssociety.org has them.😊

We would love to have you here. We talk about pretty much anything and everything, but most of all we are Always Supportive πŸ’•

@Ponymonroe , Why not think about starting a support group with the help of the MS Society. I was once a facilitator for an MS support group and they helped me get started.

Try contacting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the MSAA, they will be able to connect you with a support group in your area if there are any. If there are not any in your area, consider contacting them to learn how to start up one.

I am a co-facilitator for a support group in my town, it did take a while before I found a group I like because the two I went to before this one were depressing and had nothing but "woe is me" people in them. So you might have to be selective about a group and if you do start up your own group, please try to keep all your topics on a positive note. Don't forget, laughter is the best medicine. Another thing the MS Society is helpful with is getting speakers, that will be in your training.

Good luck and be happy!

Ponymonroe I attend an MS support group but it is at the opposite end of the country (Maine). It is overseen by the NMSS as previous people have mentioned and they would be a great place to start in your quest. OI have made some friends there and have enjoyed going. As some one mentioned, don't get caught in a group that is a "woe is me" group. Give them a couple of months.
