Bladder augmentation

My urologist wants me to have bladder augmentation with catheterizable channel. I am nervous. Has anyone already had this procedure? Can you tell me about your experience? Thanks

plosed06 , I deal with bladder issues (MS related), but mine haven't progressed to where you are yet. 18 months ago I had a bladder stimulator implanted to delay self-catheterization due to chronic UTIs. I have a male friend with MS who has an internal catheter and he has had NO problems with it. After years of self-cathing, his UTIs became too numerous and scar tissue from prostrate cancer procedures (sorry, can't think of words this morning) required it. He actually likes the freedom the tube has provided him. Maybe someone else here has more to share?

Praying the best for you as you seek answers and make your decision. 💕

I have had MS patients that due to frequent UTIs and losing the dexterity to self catheterize, I've recommended supra public catheter and it really helped.

Still occasional UTIs though.
