One more test....

Hi y'alls!

I feel much better after my horrible experience in the MRI machine. Thank you for all the good wishes.

After my MRI of my spin....I get this call from my Dr office called and said my Dr wants a VNG test done on me. I had that test done today...made me very dizzy and my eye spasmed a lot. I still don't know what my results are from my spinal MRI. I can't get in for a follow up until April, boo!

I looked on Google to see why I would need this VNG test done. It's for nystagmus which MS patients are found to have. So I am thinking that the Dr is gathering information on me to determine MS.

Does anyone here have nystagmus? Other than spasms what else have you gone through with this diagnosis?

Best wishes to all of you!

Stephanie

I've had bouts of it, but only when in bad relapse. I remember asking the dr about my eyes shaking but I didn't know what to call it. I've been lucky si far that it hasn't been permanent

I have nystagmus all the time. It's my eyes jump and can't focus on one thing. Very bothersome and I really need to concentrate on things. Eyes never stop moving but I am living with it. Neuro gave me Gabapentin but I am too chicken to try it. Eventually I will . Good luck to you

My daughter has rotary nystagmus (from birth), one eye will kind of look like it is trying to go in circles, when she is tired, and looks out to the side. I know that it is not funny but I have a funny story about it.

Some years back a program that my daughter is on was providing in house help with her after school (she is physically & mentally handicapped). The woman that helped me had brought her 8-10 year old daughter with her, so that she and my daughter could watch videos together. I had told them about my daughters eye anomalies before, so that the young girl did not worry if she noticed it. The girls were watching a movie so myself and her mother went out on the back patio to get some air and talk. After about 10-15 minutes the girl came quickly out the back door and hugged up to her mother, her eyes were really round and she looked scared/startled. Her mom asked her what was wrong, and it hit me. I asked if it was my daughters eyes and the girl blushed and acknowledged that it was. We broke out laughing. Sorry but the look on that child's face. She said that she remembered me telling her about it but it was just weird. I told her that my daughters eyes were just tired from her day at school. She said that she had not just run screaming from the room but had told my daughter that she was going to ask her mother a question. She did not want to make my daughter feel bad. I told my daughter about it later and she busted out laughing.

Hey, we have a lot of medical conditions in my family, so we have grown thick skins and the ability to laugh at ourselves and at life, otherwise we would all go crazy.

Sorry this was so long.
