You know your having an exacerbation when...
You start trickling pee and have to place a wee wee pad in your underwear
You are carrying something in your hand and drop it, you look down and are not moving but you still trip!
You experience a new symptom or the return of an old one.
Lightening strikes the right side of your face and you cringe remembering how bad the trigeminal neuralgia pain can get, so you search desperately for a bottle of Tegretol with at least 1 tablet left until you can get to the pharmacy 😬
Your leg starts doing the jig without you! You race for the cane and realize that it's in another email and your leg just laughs at you. 😕
I'm not sure what is going on with my body.
The thought of walking up the stairs makes you cry.
for some reason, you've forgotten how to swallow
It feels like some one is stabbing your hand with an ice pick. You look down and find nothing out of the ordinary, but nothing you do or take relieves the pain. It disappears, then strikes again, finally to leave you alone a couple days later.
When I cannot tolerate more than one person talking at a time and even the clothes I am wearing bother me. Sensory overload.
The simplest things/activities become an Olympic Event.
When the Dr. says "how many fingers am I holding up?" And I say "12 ... Or is it 13?"

When you have accomplished the simplest of tasks, you can turn around to yourself and say ' yes I did it ' blessings Jimeka

Good_enough, I have progressive MS so I've learned a lot about relapsing-remitting MS reading these replies to your question. I hope you enjoy a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I view each MS symptom as a challenge, like in a game, and, even though the challenge may frustrate me I work to figure out how to master whatever the challenge may be and I feel happy when I've figured out a new way to master a challenge.
Merry Christmas . I hope I didn't offend any with primary progressive ms. I was trying to make light of the holidays because even though it's a thoughtful time, it always brings stress and exacerbation . I was curious what others experience around this time . I don't know if I should say that there is a good thing about ms, but it can also bring out so much strength in a person.
For me, humor helps immensely, so I'm grateful when someone else can share something which makes me laugh. Thank you!
