You are about to step into a safe, friendly, inspiring and informative chat room and I would be happy to help guide you through this vibrant community. I am Linda O'Nan, many of you previously had known me as Fancy1959, and I am now a Community Relations Representative for this MSAA Chat Room.
We realize that MS leads everyone down a path that is uniquely their own. No two are exactly alike be you a patient or caregiver. It doesn't matter if you had MS for years or if you have been newly diagnosed, we encourage every participant in this chat room to share your successes and share your failures. We have broad shoulders and we encourage people to vent their frustrations, their fears, and their lack of knowing what the future holds with us. What makes us stronger is that we laugh together, and sometimes we cry together but we are always together. Together we are stronger.
MSAA is a national nonprofit organization and the leading resource for the entire MS Community. Its' goal is to improve the lives today of those affected by MS through vital services and support. The MSAA provides a wide range of services for the MS community living in the United States through our toll free helpline at (800) 532-7667, extension 154. Online you will find available cooling accessories, assitance equipment, educational programs, informative videos and publications; a free mobile phone app, My MS Manager; a research database; S.E.A.R.C.H.TM to assist the MS Community with learning about different treatment options; and( our website (mymsaa.org) featuring educational videos, downloadable publications, and news updates.
You will always find different MSAA members posting on this website to keep you up-to-date on news and information. We will try to involve you and ask how we can continue to support you and assist you in learning about your MS.
When you first join our community, My MSAA, we ask that you do a few things to help us get to know you.
*Create a profile about yourself that introduces you, what you like and where you are with your MS. If you could start a discussion or write a post, you will get a lot of feedback from members of the chat room and it will help you to get to know people quickly.
* Review our community guidelines and if you have questions talk to myself or another member with the MSAA Team.
*Get involved in the chat room by replying to post and offering encouragement and support. This will ease you into the community and allow you to meet others facing the same or similar issues that you are facing. We pride ourselves in the positive and caring attitude that our chat room is known for. We ask that all strive to keep their attitudes within the guidelines presented by our community.
This MSAA chat room will provide the MS community members with the support, encouragement, information, and advice to help you wherever you find yourself on this winding path that MS takes us down. The chat room's goal is to reassure you, even in times of uncertainty, that there are always other people surrounding you. You will never be alone and you will never be unsupported in our chat room. We are only a post away and we're here to ease your fears and to assist you in your journey with MS.
If you need any questions answered or assistance, remember I am just a post away. I will do my best to answer as promptly as possible. Remember together we are stronger!
Yours fighting for the cure,
Linda O'Nan
Community Relations Representative
