Is there a list somewhere of recommended MS Specialist in Illinois and other states?

Hi Judi, as you know I live in the uk. I typed into google ms specialists in Illinois and it came up with a big list of them. You may already have seen them, cheers Jimeka, hope you find a good one

Hi Jimeka, Thank you for searching. I guess I should have worded it differently. I was hoping someone could recommend by word of mouth. I get so tired of these doctors sometimes, I thought if someone had a good experience then I would see them. Thanks Judi

@judi4, the local chapter of the National MS Society should be able to provide you with a list of neurologists who specialize in MS in your area, along with a list of neurologists in general in case you don't want to go to an MS specialist for some reason. I requested such a list from the local chapter in the state I'm in when I moved a few years ago and found the list to be comprehensive and accurate. It didn't evaluate any of the doctors, though.

If you happen to know anyone who has been to a neurologist and respect that person's opinion, you could ask for the name of the doctor.

agate Thanks for the information. I'm currently seeing an MS specialist, but am looking to switch. I was hoping someone might recommend a doctor. I'll check out the list though. Thanks.😊

Unfortunately I lived in Chicago too long ago--the doctor who diagnosed my MS was an excellent neurologist but I doubt that he'd be in practice any more. He was on the faculty at Northwestern University Hospital, and my impression is that they have excellent doctors in general.

Hi Judi4 are you part of a ms support group in your area? If not get involved with them, and see who they recommend. It's a place to start anyway. Good Luck

The National MS Society is a fountain of info along with your local chapter. I have used them both frequently. Good Luck
