New record! A needle in my arm 7 times today! 5 failures to find the vein, 1 cannula, 1 extra blood test for research, 3 apologetic nurses. My veins see the needle coming and dodge out of the way. We got there eventually though.

It does seem to be hit and miss - literally! One of the nurses told me that it helps to run your hands and wrists under warm water for 5 minutes - it seems to work for me.
Yep, after four fails they wrapped up my arms in a heating pad - lovely!
Also drinking a glass of water while waiting usually does the trick for me...and pediatric needles.
