Almost every week we are told it is some kind of awareness day or week, is it a bit much and does it simply dilute the awareness of days that genuinely need more awareness? What do you think?

Are there too many charity awareness days/weeks/months - does anyone care anymore or even remember?
Not necessarily.
Different people are affected by different issues, so will get involved with the events that affect them.
For example, when my baby was small, I was very involved in the annual National Breastfeeding Week. I would go to events to help raise awareness and so did many of my friends who were in the same position. Now my son is 11, I couldn't even tell you when breastfeeding week is, because I am not involved with that circle anymore!
I think these events for different causes are extremely important for those affected by the issues involved. It gives likeminded people the chance to communicate and raise awareness about a health condition.
I think things like "Race For Life" are great at rasing cancer awareness.
if we don't take action and find and help people with similar skin disorders and tumours we will be
much worse off - and so will you if you turn up with something without much research done on it
because of lack of funds! (That is no-one raising money constantly to bring change) - Spot
