What is this mark? I thought it was milia but doctors and dermatologists don’t know what it is.

I have had this mark on my face for about ten years, thinking it was a group of deep under the surface milia. I am aware milia are usually white dots that can be brought out with a pin or via a dermatologist (you can see one under my eye in the picture), but this mark seemed like a congested spot of some sort. I have tried making small holes and popping it out - and on some occasions gunk has come out but has never gone away. I saw a private dermatologist who said I needed to see a GP as they couldn’t treat it. The GP surgery told me it was a mole… which it clearly isn’t!! Has anyone ever had anything similar?

It usually isn’t red, but I have had doctors trying to squeeze it.

It is very strange and annoying that your private dermatologist said they could not treat it. You can contact a mole removal clinic who can remove it but there will be stitches and it would leave a small scar - but it will fade and after a year you won’t notice the scar that much comparing what it is now. Even if it is not mole, a plastic surgeon can remove it (whatever it is), but you can tell the clinic that your GP said it is a mole. NHS usually won’t do it unless it is dangerous (malignant).
