I have had flu jab back in 2016 and within couple of weeks the effect of lichen planus started on my skin, this lead to lichen planopilaris of my scalp. This has resulted in permanent scaring alopecia.
I started taking hydroxychloroquine for 6 months and this have stabilise the condition.
I am a bit nervous about the Covid vaccines and am worried of the side effects of this and will the condition return again.
Does anyone have any advise or view on this. I appreciate it’s early for tell.
Many thanks

The vaccine is not live so did the doctors confirm what you were allergic to? I’ve not seen anything in relation to this before so be interested to see the replies. Was there anything else other than the flu jab around that time?
Me as a person is very fussy over food and medicine. The only thing different i did was the flu jab and within week and a half I started to notice purple rashes on my chest and I think in a month my scalp got really itchy. It then resulted in bald patches.
I have read several articles on the web that suggest flu jab can trigger lichen planus and the Covid vaccine is similar to the flu jab as well.
Hi, I had the AZ covid jab 3 weeks ago and have had a mild outbreak of Lichen Planus on my tongue but it’s getting better now. I use a Difflam spray from the GP to help with the soreness. Have you had your vaccine now?
In 2019 I took flu jab and second shingles jab on same day. Following 14 weeks were horrible. Left with Lichen Planus and tinnitus, neither of which ever had before. Have completed second COVID jab a month ago. Zero change in either condition.
