I'm trying to find any studies that have been done into aging skin - have any been done? Is skin more easily irritated if you're over 50, and would the majority of people over 50 say their skin is more sensitive than it was before?
Does skin get more sensitive with age?: I'm trying... - MY SKIN
Does skin get more sensitive with age?
I am 80. My skin has lost its elasticity, crepe like. It tends to get dry and I need to apply lotion. Because of medication, it bruises more easily.
Hi, I'm 65 and the only difference I find in my skin is that I need to apply more moisturiser. It hasn't become more sensitive but it is drier.
Hi all I'm 59 and skin has got drier progressively since menopause, and think it has also got more sensitive as I had a lot of trouble last year on holiday in lovely Dubrovnik with rash developing across neck, arms and upper chest. Not sure whether caused by sun, suncream, sea, or sand, but took combination of euclid and eumovate to clear it up. I used to have to be careful in sun but the rash was a new experience.
Hi, Im now 59 and during the past year or so I have developed Contact Dermatitis, I'm unable to find out what makes my hands flare up other than detergents, I have to wear latex free rubber gloves when cleaning or washing up. I used to be able to touch absolutely anything and a few years I had a job in a garden centre looking after Houseplants, I was forever dipping my hands in water and getting my hands dirty. I am presently to become a Reflexologist and any perfumed foot lotions seem to be out of the question for me.
