Hi All! I've been diagnosed with OCD, but when I was reading a book, OCPD came up and some of the stuff really resonated with me. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder
Not OCPD (at least I don't think so - unfortunately), though I suspect I do have perfectionism, and I also suspect that a lot of my stuff - depression, OCD, psychosomatic pains, etc, are all driven in part or in large part by my perfectionism.
My shrink diagnosed me the same way. OPCD. How is that different from OCD? He never explained it. Miss-Walker-95Plus.
OCD means your obsessions and compulsions give you a lot of anxiety and distress, and you don't want to have them.
OCPD (I think?) means that you get obsessions and compulsions too, but they don't feel like they aren't you, and at their core, they don't actually give you anxiety and distress.
That makes sense. But I do need alot of structure. I'm disabled and can't work. That makes life very hard. Thanks for your reply. That's the first one I got on this forum! Miss-Walker-95-Plus.
OCPD is largely what is mocked on TV and movies where a character must have their pencils and surroundings in neat order. There is a need for orderliness. On its own, OCPD is generally less debilitating than OCD. OCPD can be present without intrusive thoughts, whereas OCD always has intrusive thoughts.
What are your main intrusive thoughts? I'm sure I have some but not severe. Thanks.
