Hello Janey Bell!

I had Ovarian Cancer but just a tip for chemo and that is to drink plenty of water! The Chemo can play havoc with your digestive system and it really helps this to get plenty of water into you! Best wishes to your son I am sure he will get through it! My cousin had hodgkins last year and the treatment was tough but he got through it and he's great now!

All the very best!

I am from Bangalore India. i was caretaker for 18 months in my wife's fight with 4th stage Ovarian Cancer at diagnosis, since Jan-14 to June 15. She underwent alternate therapies as well as chemo and surgery. i learned a few things during this period as an caretaker. The patients immunity has to be maintained thru proper supplements as his diets will not be in his hand due to suppressed taste and other side effects of chemo. Please consult your doctor and talk to him for necessary supplements to sustain during and after chemo and recovery. Oral Lyposomal Vit C OR Vit C administration thru IV, B-12, Vit D and other suppliments as per doctor can be please considered. If you have trust you can also try Homeopathy to build Immunity. Homeopathy does not interfere with Chemo. i did try and it did gave quality of life during fight.

Please make mental note and do differentiate between Oral & IV administration as well as plain and Lyposomal ones which are best absorbed at cellular level. If you can adopt Ludwig Protocol of cottage cheese and flax seed oil for cellular level absorption of oxygen it will furthur help. It is a diet protocol and you can read on net in depth. For fast recovery one need to have discipline and will.

hi janey, my daughter has hodgkins lymphoma, age 27 with stage 2 type A and she wanted to say: I am half way through treatment and have found I struggle with acid reflux so have been put off dairy and acidic foods. At this point I am sure you are scared of whats to come and want to know everything you can to prepare yourself, my best advice is to take each day as it comes with chemo, tell him to eat what he fancies and I'd say my imagination was a lot worse than my current reality, somedays I don't feel well, but I wasnt expecting to feel as well as I do. I wish you and your family the best of luck during this difficult time.

PS. please don't eliminate anything when speaking with his oncologist. I suffered with terrible acid reflux and I didn't think anything could be done apart from anti sickness and thought it was part and parcel of chemo. It wasn't until I spoke to another patient who said they had it and recommended asking for tablets that I found there was a cure for the pain I had been in. In my oncologists words 'we have a host of medications available to counteract many side effects, please share all symptoms so we can help.'. I shall not hold anything back now, and try and write memos for myself as when it comes to my next appointment the pain of chemo has ceased and I only remember half of it.

I had breast cancer surgery in February this year. Also had Chemotherapy but because of severe reactions to the drug had to come off it. I am now suffering with lots of side effects which I was not told about.

Make sure he drinks lots of water, fresh vegetables and fruits steamed. Broccoli, brussel sprouts, kale, parsley, cauliflower , carrots, sweet potatoes, black pepper , turmeric. All these can also be juices which is better raw or slightly steamed. No meat, fish is good but grilled or steamed. Beetroot juice it drink. Oh lots of oranges Vitamin C in high doses.

If I had to do it all over again I would go the alternative way (which I wanted to do but I listened to family & friends advice ).

I wish you and your son all the best. I will pray for you and family especially your son. God is good without HIM I cannot survive now.

Take care x

I froze grapes, pineapple chunks and strawberries to suck on when I was feeling sick, very light food, wet towel for headaches, ice pack for neck too. Daily walks even you feeling rubbish. I hope all goes well. Xx

I used frozen grapes to get rid of the horrible taste in mouth. Steamed veggies were also good with small amount of salmon. Homemade Soups if you can handle it. Good luck. You will come through stay positive xx
